  • My First Job/Day of work

I got hired at my local food lion(grocery store) last tuesday. My first day was friday. I worked from 4-11. My first real day of work. Started out stocking then i went straight to breaking down palets and putting all the stuff on 6 wheelers. 50 lb dog food bags and cat litter boxes start to get heavy after awhile. Then i had to move all 6 full 6 wheelers over to the corresponding aisles. Well the Ragu Pragu 6 wheeler ended up being a nightmare. Took a turn a little to fast and middle of 6 wheeler fell on floor. Breaking a ****load of pizza sauce spaghtti sauce etc.... I cleaned all that up in the process cutting my finger on glass. Made it out at 11:30. I didnt have to pay for it. Then yesterday (saturday) i went back in. I had to clean all the jars/containers that werent broke so they could put them on restock. Cutting my fingers all up it sucked. Then finally the truck came in so then i spent rest of night loading 6 wheelers and breaking down palets again.

This is my job. 20 hours at least a week at 7 dollars an hour right now :0. Im a junior in high school Camaro should get hooked up. Only bad part about the job is i gotta work when truck comes in and the truck comes in friday night and saturday night.....

I also figure by the end of the summer i should be buffer and skinnier. **** gets heavy.....and a **** load of walking.

What was your first job and any nightmare stories like mine?

My first job was working for a plant nursery. It was an all-day outside job, usually 10-11hr shifts in the 90*+ heat, had some days where I loaded over 15000lbs of mulch into customers cars and then random trees and plants on top of that. Didnt get paid much, but I worked with cool people and like being outside to do work. I've had a few office-type jobs and I get so bored sitting at a desk.

I hated working at a grocery store and I'm glad I quit. There were nothing but *** holes that over worked me and underpaied me I'm glad they went out of business.

My first job was a busboy / dishwasher at a Pizza Hut.

Huge piles of dirty stuff, constantly working as fast as I possibly could and unable to keep up.

I made it through three weekends of hell and then found a job as a busboy at a country club. That was much better. Country clubs are great places to work.

I worked Friday nights, Saturday nights and 8-10 hours on Sunday.

I never could afford a car in HS, but my parents let me drive the family sedan to/from work when it was available. When the car was not available, I made lots of phone calls to get a ride from a co-worker or somebody/anybody to get me to the general vicinity of the country club.

My money mostly went to saving for college. I spent some money on stereo equipment.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

My first job was at a private food place in Six Flags over Georgia. I walked around the park with cotton candy, lemonade, sno-cones, and popcorn. Sounds like a crappy job but during the summer I'm making between 10-12 dollars an hour (i get paid 6.25 plus commission) i started when i was 16 and now this is my 4th year there. It's only seasonal but back when i had no bills to pay i could easily save quite a bit of money and not have to work during the off-season.

My first job would have to be working for neighbors and helping with sorting pigs, walking organic crops, bailing hay and just farm stuff like that.

i work at a walmart pharmacy, my co workers are great they love me! there all women too. but i get all kinda anger loud old people yelling at me cuz there pills are too much. then i get weird ladies that tell you to much info. this one lady told me she kept getting yeast infections with a brown sewage like discharge. so then i relayed her to the pharmiscist and she tells her to go to the doctor. then she comes back a week later and tells me that the doctor said that her vagina is too close to her anus thats why shes getting infections. i about barfed all over her.
