Chipped, supercharged, and countless other mods?

the z28 cop cars, with the B4C package, offered:
-6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
-P245/60ZR16 S/B RADIAL TIRES
-4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES
-ENGINE OIL COOLER
-LIMITED SLIP REAR AXLE
-3.42 AXLE RATIO
-140 AMP ALTERNATOR
-RIDE AND HANDLING SUSPENSION SYSTEM

but you know, that high-output alternator really charges the battery fast, and adds like 75hp, so thats 350 i guess...
</font>
i've never seen a manual trans in a cop's car... i think he'd be busy using the computer, talking over the radio, and... well, driving. they already have to do more than one thing at a time, why would they throw shifting gears into the mix?

oh and btw, our cop cars here are supercharged impalas. they sound mean. :D

Hahaha, that's awesome.. the kid completely would've had them if it wasn't for the car breaking down.

Might of been modded then, a friend of mine has a HP Z28 and its supercharged, I'll get pics of it. It'd be pretty stupid to have a manual in a cop car..

</font>
manual transmissions were huge with the earlier SSP mustangs. but they also didn't have to contend with in-car computers and most light buttons were huge. most pursuit cars now are automatic. there are a few that are sticks, but those went to various highway patrol units and it was an option beyond the initial package.

they came with 3.23 gears in the auto. 105 amp alternators (which is why i've been having trouble with mine).

9C1 impalas are not supercharged. one, no city will accept the liability of hot rodding their patrol car and two, they're not going to spend your tax dollars to install and maintain something they don't really need. GM tried to supercharge them but could not get the performance worked out while using 87 octance fuel. that's how cheap government agencies are, everthing uses 87 to save money. only the pursuit cars get 93, but that's factory recommendation. you may see the occassional police car with something on it, but i assure you it's not city purchased and likely not used for general patrol duties. that would most certainly be a rarity.

let's squash everything right now...this is the option tag, build sheet, and buyer's tag for my car. the only modifications made to it were SFCs, better brakes, and a roll bar.

i definitely wouldn't be surprised if they lied to us too... in our DARE program, the officer talked to us briefly about running from the cops. he pretty much just told us it would be very stupid to outrun our local cops because there isn't a single student with a car faster than theirs. he told us their impalas were supercharged and not very easy to outrun. they also sound supercharged. hm... oh well.
