                Please don't flame me but I've kind of wondered... what is the point of burning out (other than that it is kind of cool)? Is there another purpose or is that it?

                It just seems like a huge waste of money (buying new tires)

                  you clean off, as well as heat up, the tires. the purpose is to get the best possible traction by having warm, fresh rubber to grip with.

                    Skorpion is right, but in this instance I think it was just a burnout contest or smoke show.

                      yeah i'm pretty sure it was... that was a pretty long burnout just to be freshening up the tires for a race... and he also pulled off the strip after he was done. mmm wonder how that smelled [img]tongue.gif[/img]
