• Almost said goodbye to my car

Yep...i live out in the country in a city of about 200. There is an intersection where 2 rural highways come to a cross, and i always powerslide it....when its dry.

Last night i got a wild hair up my *** and decided to give it a try while it was raining.

    Wet pavement > My car

I did a 270....and started to go backwards off the opposite side of the road...and i had the presence of mind to whip the wheel and get the front end to swing around straight. I was in the wrong lane, but i saved it

Good thing too, because once you leave the shoulder of the road, its a nice 10 foot ditch.

Ooops. Yea, its not a good idea to do something like that with no room for error.

I remember I did something like that, except I didn't almost spin out ;) with my wife in the car. It was probably the 3rd or 4th time she had ridden with me in the car. She about had a heart attack

I remember one night i was taking the long way home just for the ride. Last turn onto my road its like a 90* turn. It was dry was like let me kick it out a bit. Well a but turned into a lot. I was facing the bank. I didnt know thered be loose rocks/gravel in the road.....I learned.. It was scary. I can imagine what it felt like.

I just did something like that in my moms jeep. It was slick out, and I came up to a four-way stop, checked both ways, didnt see anybody, so i went through. All of a sudden, somebody decides to come through the perpindicular stop and not stop. So i gunned it, both back tires started spinning, I fish tailed left, right, left, then I let off fast (wasnt thinking to let off slowly) and spun a 540 and went up onto a curb, and came about 6 inches away from a fire hydrant. So, it wasnt my fault, but it was sorta fun/cool/scary as hell. I didnt even get a description of the ******* though.

*knock on wood* never had any problems, but seems like everytime I lost control I didn't get any damage other then some bad curb rash.

dang asdf1234, first thing I saw in those pics were your front rims!!!

I have had many close calls in my firebird when i had bald tires. Its kind of fun when you are sliding around but then you think about how close you were from tearing something up

Yeah, losing control of a car is a very crappy feeling. I've lucked out and not lucked out. I try to avoid stupid mistakes
