wma to mp3 format??? help please

    wma to mp3 format??? help please

    I copied a few of my cds to my hard drive using WMP and i noticed they are all in wma format... is there software out there to convert it into mp3 format? I want to put them on my mp3 player. I searched and couldnt really find what i wanted.

        I believe I still have a codec pack for WMP that allows you to rip straight into mp3 from CDs. I can look for it when I get off work if you want.

          yeah just nip it in the bud and go from cd to mp3 right away
          dont make it a 2 step process [img]smile.gif[/img]
          there are tons of programs that allow you to do this (musicmatch and roxio are two big ones)

            I use FreeRIP to rip cds to MP3. ;)

              You don't need a codex pack, just change the settings in the newest WMP.

                    OK so i need to just download the latest WMP, right? I looked around before to see if it would rip it mp3 format but i didnt see it. Thanks for the replies, I am gonna work on this tonight.

                          I use CD-DA X-tractor. Open source, freeware.

                          Autorips, looks up track names, and encodes.

                            Dojo2000 was right, but it's included in WMP10. Hope that helps.

                              What does Ripping Music mean?

                              Also, I have a standard CD player in my house that won't play MP3's. What format should I burn them in to make them play?
