• Hey bikers...

I was suprised Sunday night... I was out on the bike with my buddy on his 2003 TL1000R, and the both of us were messing around a bit. I decided to see how well id go up against him, so we both nailed the throttle. He held me for a bit, but as soon as I hit the higher RPMs and started smackin thru the gears I started pulling on him pretty good. I did this off the line, at a high rpm roll, and again at a low RPM roll, where his twin has the advantage, yet I still smoked him pretty good. I was pretty suprised and quite impressed. The TL is piped, not sure if its jetted, hes a bike mechanic so he keeps the bike well tuned, and hes a much better rider than I am who has also raced before, so that rules out bad shifting and riding on his part. The bike is also sloppy and too big for the twisties. So basically, these twins are a pile of useless crap (to me anyway) if it cant hit the twisties, and 600's can outrun it. Oh, and im having fuel injection problems bogging my engine down around 6K rpms. I have an 04 R6 by the way.

Hmm, just my opinion on these bikes... Just had to share my "Kill"...

Sweet bike. I have an 03 Flame Edition R6. I haven't gotten too many races with it, but have walked away from my friends f4i like it was standing still.

Thanks people. Im really glad I put the extra time and effort into getting the limited edition paint job. Bird of Prey, I love the 03's with the Cherry red flames on the black. If I wasn't going to buy new, thats what I was going to get.
I posted the pics before, but since Im getting compliments, here they are again, heh.

R6Messagenet is a good one too.

Those TL1000's are quick, but with the weight advantage that the R6 has and the fact that our powerband is so high, you would take him almost all the time. The R6 was definitely a good choice for an all-around badass bike.

:D But anyway, if my 600 is faster, than those TL1000's are not quick. One of my last posts about bikes I was saying how my 600 was too slow, and I should look into the TL's. Turns out the TL is slower, im just suprised.

When I rode a TL1000, it was a freakin torque monster and the front end jumped up faster than all hell, but I like the R6s much better

I dont know, sounds a whole lot like you're just assuming to me, because I rode the TL and I figured the same thing. I rode with him all day, and the way he was taking off, I figured Id never have a chance. And of course he figured the same thing. But then we actually tried it, I always immediatley pulled some, then he held me for quite a ways, but then I started pulling again thru the higher gears. Soo, you may be suprised. Unless this TL has serious issues, or is a factory defect, which I highly doubt in either case, your R6 friends should race your TL friends...
