  • Hey Bike guys....(probably one of the sadder storeis on the net)

Be careful out there, those things jsut keep coming up as deathtraps to me...

Highschool, friend of mine, hit by a volvo changing lanes, lays down his bike at ~65-70 mph, slides and hits a tree with his body, cracks his helmet. He was in the hospital for a week. Jsut getting run off the road.

College, different freind sitting at a stoplight, gets rear ended by and F-150, threw him into an intersection almost got hit by traffic. Rear part of his bike, bent about 3 feet higher then his rear wheel.

College, same friend as above, gets hit by someone changing lanes not paying attention, lays down his bike, tons of roadrash, not too severe.

College, Friend of my girlfriend's family, guy gets hit or run off the road on a cruiser bike, dies at the seen. 45 year old man, left a wife and 3 daughters, luckily he was pretty well to do and owned his own business so the wife and kids are taken care of.

And now this possibly one of the saddest stories on the net... Just a normal message board guy just like any of us out cruiseing...

    http://zrxoa.org/03Z1Rthreads/hitandrun.htm

You guys probably have seen it elsewhere its been floating around the web since the guy just commited suicide.

Man, and I thought I was having a bad day.

I really feel for people like that. One of my close friends was in a motorcycle accident and he broke a few vertebrae in his neck. He is currently in a wheelchair, but he can use his hands for most tasks and seems in good spirits. I only wish I could do more for him, you know to fix the part thats broken, but I'm not technically capable(as is our current medical technology).

I feel for this guys family. It makes you wanna cry for the suffering he went through and all because someone was stupid.

I had read this story before but I didn't know he commited suicide. Man I feel really sad now. I dunno if I'll ever get a street bike now... Jeese even if you're the best driver in the world you just can't account for other people's actions on the road. It kinda makes you think...

OMG that's the wrost thing I've ever heard. It sent chills through my body. I was def planing on getting a bike, I don't think i'm going to anymore after reading this story. I think i'm going to send the money that i've saved for the bike to his son Devin. WOW that's horrible. Hopefully he really is in a better place.

Youre right, and while you are at it, you should sell your car too, because there is always that possibility you can be nailed by a semi and become a vegetable or get mangled... Can't just live your life in fear.

It's a hell of a lot easier to walk away from a car accident. I've been driving I think 4 years now with no accdients.
The standard for bike riders is that they will be off that bike AT LEAST 2 times in the first 5 years. Ask ANYBODY who's riden... it will happen. People just do not consider bikes like there are people on them and do some stupid things.
