  • APC Reverse glow gauges

I figured i would post this here since it has nothing to do with f-bodys. Well my friend got an entire instrument panel from some guy that he knows, but when he tried putting it into his truck we found an extra wire sticking out the side of the new instrument panel. we pulled everything apart and looked at it and came to the conclusion that the extra wire is for illuminating the new gauges, APC reverse glow overlays. my question is where in the hell do you hook up that extra plug in because we have no idea???

By the way it is for a 98 S-10. The new gauges came from a 99.

i figured that is what it was for but, it is on the far right side of the gauges and the light switch on s-10s are on the dash on the left side of the truck. the wire is a good 9 inches to short to get over there.

yea, you want to it to have power when you select your head light switch on. I'm not sure about S10s, but in my camaro the power wire for the headlight selector switch was yellow. Seeing that you said your friend got it from another guy, it's very practical that he probably just sliced off that 9 inches you needed when taking it off. Hope I could help.

If its a plug you need to get the switch that came with it. When I had my overlay it had a switch for color and a knob for brightness....you need at least 2 wires for that overlay to work.

ok thanks for the help guys. that is what i was thinking from the start speedy, but i didnt know if there was a way for me to splice it in anywhere so it would still work. its no big deal though he got it for free anyway.
