Ive heard of this being done.. descreening the MAF. but what is it?, and whats the purpose?

Removing the MAF screen. It's the thing at the front of the TB. Supposed to allow a tiny bit more airflow into the engine without being blocked/swirled/whatever by the screen. Personally, I'd leave it there (especially on a 95-98). There's been a few arguments in intake/exhaust about it if you try a search.
