FINALLY! I've been applying at Publix since June 2005! They have the best pay, and they're right down the street. The interview is this Wednesday the 18th at 2:30 pm! Wish me luck!

I GOT THE JOB!!! Because I’m 16, they started me off as Bag Boy, and Cart Collector for $6.75 an Hour. They also said the max I’m allowed to work a week is 27 hours. So after taxes I should be making around $670+ a month! That’s a lot for a 16 year old. Here’s the great news, my Mom said she only wants 20% of each Paycheck the rest is MODIFICATION money for my Car!
cool don't forget about taxes... Its a decent check but since you are a dependent you will get most back on a tax return AKA big mod time.
I wish I had a job when I was that yong but I busted my *** in 2 varsity sports and never had a job till I moved to college.
PS child labor law in FL is you cannot work before 6:30 am, or after 11 pm, and cannot work more then 30 hours a week, until summer or so. you also need to take a break every 4 hours
they probably do 27 hours as a "buffer" at my work we make our minors take breaks every 3.5 hours because they alwasy go over 4 hours and if we get audited by the state I believe its $1800 fine per violation, even if somoene misses it by a minute.

I just got my raise at my work about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm at 7.55 plus time and a half on sundays and holidays. I've been there for about a year. Also just got done paying off my car so most of my money now is going toward extra stuff for it. [img]graemlins/naughty.gif[/img] Can't wait for that tax return to come.
I make $6.75/hr (min. wage for NYS), but I only work like 15 hours a week. So I only make around $80 a week (after taxes). You really shouldn't get that much taken out for taxes since you are only 16, I'm 17 and don't get much taken out.

Well I'm only 16 so, she feeds me, pays for half of my car payment (my Grandpa pays the other half), she pays for my insurance, she bought all of my modifications so far, and bought so many other things for me, I think I owe her. I offered her 50% and she only wanted 20% so I said ok! [img]tongue.gif[/img]
