  • Ford GT on my campus, sweet mother of god!!

Well, I know it's a GM preferred site, but I gotta give props where they're due - the Ford GT is absolutely awesome. We're having our engineering career fair this week, and all the manufacturers are bringing their special toys down. My roommate had his camera with him and snapped a bunch of pics of it. I went back later and a C6 rolled in, but alas I didnt have my camera. I'm gonna try to see if I can get a shot of my car next to the C6 before they leave on thursday.

And of course, it couldn't be complete without a vid of the supercar revving it up:

This is a preproduction model of the car, so some parts are still slightly unfinished. If anything could make me a Ford fan, this certainly just did. It's so hot. I think I'm gonna go back up to campus to stare at it and the C6 some more.

Yeah, the red does it for me. That other one looks like it belongs in a kid's nursery. Cool car nonetheless.

Wow, just went back to try and hunt down the C6. The GT guy was still there and let me sit in it.

About the color, yeah it is kinda ugly. This is still a pre-production model that they take around and basically it was pretty beat up. The color is meant as a heritage to the color they've raced in the LeMans the past 2 years or something. Heck, they said this thing has been beat up so much that they were having troubles with the lights turning off randomly when leaving. Took them a few tries to get em on. There's also a few body panels that you can tell are pre-production, some gaps and rivets and stuff. I was still incredibly amazed, I almost lost it when he started it up, made me feel all tingly, lol.
It sits incredibly low, but the ergonomics are awesome.
Got a vid of it leaving too.

I never got to see the C5-R a few years back, think it was before my time, or before I got into cars much (wasnt till end of freshman year I really got hardcore into em). But the C6 was sweet tonight. The interior is amazing; one thing that bothered me - the C6's exhaust note is very very tame. The guy revved it up for us, and I must say it needs an aftermarket exhaust. I was incredibly impressed though, and definitely want a C6 more than ever now.

            vt.edu...VaTech?

Nice cars, though. I wish they could have brought a c6 when GM came here last week for our career fair. oh well. I have to agree with that color on the GT, though. I saw one spring break at a car show that was silver. THAT made me want it. The red one looks good and all, but I very much liked the silver one.

Heh, sorry man, not my call about the RU students, that kinda sucks. The GT is gonna be parked outside squires till thursday if you really wanted to drive the 20mins to come see it. I think the C6 will probably be there too, which is my new favorite "realistic after graduating" car after seeing it up close and in person.

And yeah, it's at Va Tech. I'm gonna go talk with GM and Cummins tomorrow, maybe if I'm lucky I can land an internship. Then again, that requires a decent GPA, something I'm kinda lacking at...Still gonna shoot for it though.

That looks like Oshkosh, WI to me! I was there this past summer and got some shots of the Fords inside that tent. Didn't see that red one outside though, unless you were at a different air show.

                      Check'em out: http://www.gt-thetachi.org/aeberhard...Oshkosh_Day_3/

[edit] Just checked out your video, that def. was Oshkosh. I missed that runway drive-by. But if you ever get a chance to drive your car on a runway, I HIGHLY recommend it - SO MUCH FUN!!!

Thanks! Yea, just got my IFR a month ago. I flew up there with some friends from New Hampshire. Go back a directory on my web site to check out a TON of aviation stuff I've taken (lots more from Oshkosh at the bottom).

That's awesome. I have my Commercial certificate and Instrument rating. Starting Multi in about a month.
