• grrrrr..... i HATE people

Well, yesterday I dropped my wallet outside of work. I didn't notice until 5 oclock when i got off that it had been missing. I searched the office and my car, high and low. No wallet. All I can think is F***, this is Randallstown someone's got it. Not only was my license in there, but my social security card, my atm card, my check book, and my birth certificate.

I call the bank as soon as i get home... and tell them what the deal is, and the rest went something like this...

Bank Rep: "When was the last time you used your card?"

Jessica: "Saturday, why?"

Bank Rep: "it's been used 2 times so far today."

Jessica: "WELL STOP IT!!!!" lol

Bank Rep: "I'll have to close your card."

Jessica: "Well that's not too hard now is it???"

Bank Rep: "Done ma'am."

With that I call to file a report... first i call Carroll County precinct.. they forward me to B-more county. I talk to them, they then tell me that i have to meet an officer somewhere and i could be waiting anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours. I said, "Excuse me, but someone is being me using my hard earned money ILLEGALLY and you are telling me i'm gonna wait outside in the dark for 2 hours to see a cop. No thanks i'll come to the precinct."
They then continue to tell me they will file the report for the theft of the wallet, but i will have to get in with Carroll County for the Identity Fraud and Fraudulent use of the credit card.

I call Carroll county after filing a report with B-more, and tell them what they said, and they were like, "That's just baltimore's way of not having to proceed with the complaint."

I'm like well then, i hope they get their **** stolen!!! The cop comes to my house... I file another report, and he then leaves. I call the bank and talk to them, and tell them I now have report numbers. Well they proceed to tell me....

Bank Rep: "Jessica, your car has been used a total of 6 times, the last time was at an ATM where the card was captured."

Jessica: "Well, where was it captured. They have survellance they can see the person who did it!"

Bank Rep: "Ma'am we cannot provide that information until 6 am tomorrow morning."

Jessica: "You're kidding? This is fuking ridiculous!!!!"

Bank Rep: "Call bla bla bla tomorrow morning to find out."

Well, this morning i call blah blah blah, and well that's all i friggin got. Can you believe that they have no way of telling where my card is??? No way of knowing what ATM captured the card until 12am tonight? So F m&t bank, F the baltimore police department. And f the mf'er that took my wallet.

I know i know i know, i'm a girl and i should know better than to keep all this stuff in the same place. Don't say a word about that because i will take my lovely broom stick to your rear. It's my fault.... but what i'm ranting on is the bank/police cooperation with this situation. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

/end rant

Freakin' cow girl!
(not gonna rip you up over the same stuff in wallet thing ... but ...)

I sure hope they find the (censored) ... I'm confused though. At the first call, it had been used twice, at the second call it was captured on the sixth use ... what the f? How was it used 4 other times before it was captured?

I sure hope the catch this guy -- having your SS card/birth cert stolen ... well ... that's kind of the first and second steps to having your identity taken away too. :/

(Remember what I do for a living, Jess, keep on the rear of those cops because you have have a potentially serious probably on your hands.)

*Fingerprints on card -- hope hope!
*Person on camera -- hope hope!
*Person has a history and will be easy to catch -- hope hope!

:( That sucks, I lost my debit card one time and the guy was nice enough to call my parents house and mail it back to me.

The evil and disrespect in people just amazes me.

I mean, seriously, I like to believe that I am part of that group working 'toward the greater good' ... I go out of my way to help people whenever I can. Perhaps it's the 'small town' in me, but I really don't care what it is - I like it.

Right now I'm sitting at the receiptionist's (sp? - and her computer is fast!) desk because she wanted to run for a flu shot and no one could cover for her ... so here I am, being a nice person. I was lucky enough to be hired into this position because I'm a nice person... I return lost materials, passports, cards, incorrectly sent mail, miss directed phone calls - WHATEVER! I'm that person that lets you infront of me when you're about to miss your exit (just don't cut me off without a signal.) I stop to help people on the side of the road (especially F-bodies), and regardless of the obvious dangers involved.

I do all of this because I hope next time that person comes across a similar situation, they'll think about it and do the same .... I mean, heck, next time, it could be me looking for help.

And on that note, Jess - let me know if there's anything we can do to help you out.

There are some good people out there They are few and far between, but I swear they exist.

Are you going to get your money back?

They supposedly stopped the card after he used it twice, so how did he use it 4 more times after that??

Can you get online and access your account? If you can that may be a way of seeing how much the transactions were.

Sorry this happened to you.

sounds like you need that bank in the commercial at the star bucks where the guys buying something and goes to his friend at the computer and instantly sees the transfers.
Living here I thought that nobody ever checks my ID when I use a CC just because it is a college area and I'm sure thats how alot of people pay. but it did get me thinking, and for someone to use your card 5 times without hesitation is just really suspicious to me. That just nuts man!

Sorry hun. :(

he didn't have my pin...that's waht stopped him at the ATM... you only have a few tries to get the right PIN number before they capture the card.

If you all only knew randallstown...
