• Any computer wizards?

When looking for a powersupply for a Standard ATX (AMD) motherboard...Does the powersupply specifically need to say it will work with "AMD" type motherboards? I figure 300watts will do but some say "300watts 12volt," "300wattsP4" or just "300watts."

No it doesn't, only P4s need a special plug from the power supply

I've never really run into problems like that...as long as you get an ATX power supply, compatibility shouldn't be an issue at all.

Okay I didn't know for sure. Here's one for example... Case w/PwrSply The power supply specs just say 350watts. So, just so the power supply is for atx motherboards (regardless if it's a pentium or amd), I'll be in good shape then? Thanks

you'll be fine. But try to steer clear of off-brand manufacturers. Lousy power supplies can cause all sorts of headaches down the road.

I usually recommend Sparkle PS'es.

Hey that's the site where I just ordered the motherboard from. I like their prices and free shipping.

I'm rebuilding a computer for my wife's boss and planned on reusing his old case and PS. However, the old case only holds micro-atx motherboards and I accidentally ordered a standard atx board from newegg. Instead of screwing around with returning the board I'm just gonna upgrade to a standard atx case and PS.
Thanks for the info.
