• V6 Tuning Results!

We tuned 98v6's car finally! Using HPTuners software, we accomplished ALOT! Here's the graph. Notice on the blue graph, the dip around 4300rpm. By cleaning up GM's timing and fuel tables we were able to smooth out both the HP and torque curves. Peak number on the torque are deceiving because of the verter, but you can see the increase all the way across the board We are able to do all the 97-02 V6 F-bodies

that looks like a VERY nice increase throughout the ENTIRE RPM range. That is definitely going to be a very noticeable difference.

Good numbers for initial testing. Have you or did you mess with torque management at all? How did the car feel afterwords?

Did you make the timing and fuel changes based on calculations or trial and error via the dyno? And I'm guessing you can't tell exactly what you changed?

Yes 10rwhp on a mostly stock car is not bad at all IMO! Adjusting the fuel and timing for nitrous is a very good thing to do and can make the difference between a 13 second slip, and BOOM! His torque management is gone now. He'll have to chime in to say how it feels as compared to before, he posted it felt like a different car in the sponsor's section.

All these changes were made on the dyno with wideband O2 monitoring. We kind of started slow and snuck up on adding timing to be extra careful to not over-do it. We know exactly what we changed of course:) More results to come shortly. My car will hopefully be done and tuned tomorrow, with a bigger camshaft, headwork, and some other goodies:)

Does that software work with a 3.4? Just curious... I think there is only 1 company that does 3.4 work, fastchip, where I got my car done.
