I hate adware, my computer is so infected with it right now. I'm putting McAfee to work though. [img]smile.gif[/img]
I feel like I'm under siege I'm getting so much ****. So far my firewall has stopped 1800 new events today :eek: All of those events are sites trying to access my computer without my consent.
What protection software is everyone running?

McAffee is satan! Trust me, I'm a geek... the top network security dude I work for hates it too. It once totally corrupted one of our computers.
I run Adaware (better than spybot search and destroy imo), Norton Antivirus (good, but my boss recommends PCsillin), and ZoneAlarm for firewall.
Really... if you are wise with what you click "ok" to and what emails you open, you should never get anything more than tracking cookeis in regard to adaware. I haven't gotten a Virus, Trojan, or ANY AdAware other than tracking cookies in AGES. The people where I work get them on a daily basis -_-' Part of it is they are more of a target... the other part is <_< they're kinda stupid.

I use AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy to get rid of the spyware and Trojan horses and I'm going to get either Black Ice or ZoneAlarm for a firewall. Anyone know if Bazooka is a decent adware removal program?
Don't use anything... don't care. If they want someone off my comp take it(just not the porn). If they want to give me a virus or trojan thats fine I'll fix it if it annoys me, done it before and will do it again.

You will save yourself alot of time fighting spyware. Firefox will not be affected. It will always be faster than IE, and easier to use/manage than IE.
IE/Microsoft products are all half a.s.s., and will always be half a.s.s.
They have less interest in perfecting their products, because they own the home users market already! It would be a waste of profit to put more money into a product that already sells like crazy.
That was part of the anti trust suit. Microsoft had a monopoly which wouldnt be so bad if they didnt make sh*t software. How are you supposed to run an efficient steady business with a blue screen and over flow errors?
