ok, so 3 guys go into this hotel and split the cost for a $30 room.... they each pay $10. the hotel owner decides that that is too much so he sends room service back w/ $5 so they only pay $25 for the room. the room service guy decides that he will give them only $3 and he will keep the other $2, so that the three guys can each have $1 back. that would mean that each guy only ended up paying $9 for the room.
$9x3 guys= $27
plus the $2 that thr room service guy kept. that totals $29.... where did the other $1 go from $30?

the way it is written it breaks the rules of division and multiplication. therefore you get weird answers. not sure how to explain it anymore. I had heard it a few years ago.
