  • I really ****ed up tonight need help

Well me and this chick I ride with were heading down to southern Denver about 11:00pm and really booking it. Well I guess we passed a cop who got my plates I saw him I was doing the speedlimit @ that point well he chased her and I just kept going and got pulled over a few miles away. Well he clocked me @ 110 in a 55. Long story short my bike got impounded and I got to call for a ride. The cop claims he had my plate number but its pretty much impossible to read it. Well I need a lawyer probably any good suggestions? What I have in my favor the cop screwed up my address he put one from my old plate on there which wasn't on my bike. There is no way he clocked both of us @ the same speed because we were separate of each other. The 3rd thing I have is that my license is out of state. The ticket was wreckless driving 8 points plus speeding 6 points. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its really hard to understand from your post what actually happened.

Not sure if you are seperate from her or if she is on your bike, if both of you got pulled over, you see a cop and are doing the speed limit yet somehow he clocks you at a really fast speed.

Ok 1 cop got my tag supposedly and then went after her because she took an exit. Not really possible with the location of my tag.(its in front of my rear tire) Another cop down the road pulled me over because I fit the description of the bike. I was doing the speed limit @ the time. The cop who pulled me over didn't clock me speeding yet he wrote me the ticket.

Hire a lawyer and spend whatever is necessary to get it dismissed or reduced.

            Good luck.

yep, if you are in school, you likely have free lawyer services talk to them. But from what I understand they will not represent you out of state for free. Mine woudl not represent me in person only 2 hours away, but still in the same state.

If you keep riding after that, I suggest going to more track events to get your need for speed. It's safer, controlled conditions and no cops.

Bad thing is neither one of us ran I would have gotten away and she probably would have gotten away too. I was 3 blocks from a cop I had seen turn around on me when I turned on a side street when they pulled me over because the description of my bike matched there radio all I would have had to do was punch it and I would have lost him. But in court we at least have that going for us.

I think you can get off on the address thing, plus the fact that the cop couldn't see your plate. Hire a lawyer for that though, they know how to work a case like that.

</font>[/QUOTE]I got to agree with DV here. I wouldn't think about running, don't know why you would do the same. The minute a bike outruns radio waves used by the cops is the minute I would consider running. If you want some advice, stop speeding. Ususally that helps. And if you want to speed, then be prepared for the ticket.
