• What does a '97 3.8 Camaro run stock?

Sorry for the nooby question but I didn't know what to search for or where to look.

I see people's times but I don't know what is stock so I have no idea what an improvement things are...

What is its stock track time... and what would it be if I added say....

Lingenfelter Intake (Or SLP CAI... not HUGE difference...)

that question has way too many variables. it all depends on gears, transmission, driver, and weather.

Stock gears <_<... becuase I said that all that would be changed was intake and exhaust.... Good driver, and an average dry, sunny, day.

About how much time would what I listed cut off?

Stock gears depends on the car. Some cars have 3.08s, others have 3.23s, some have 3.42s.

M5 i'd say mid 15's.
A4 i'd say high 15's.

If you had a 3.4 I'd say you could get down the 1/4 mile in about 11 seconds flat, but since its just a 3.8 ... probably 18 or 19 seconds.

Nah, actually, I don't think anyone can give you a good guess.. there are too many things that can change your times, the only way to know for sure is to go to the track. If you want a ballpark number.. I think ravenp is close.

Anyone know of a track close to Nashville or Jackson Tennessee? lol... Also... people say it depends on whether or not you're a "good driver"..... I know there is skill involved... but if I've got an auto, I don't spin on the launch, and basically just punch it isn't that as good as it's going to get?

Basically...but if you're not spinning at all, you might try stalling to get a better launch. Hold the brake hard and give gas. Hold it at 1300 for a pass, if no sping, try 1500 and go until your converter will let you or you spin off the launch...that might help.

For my car when it was stock, it didn't like stalling...i always went slower :( But it has worked for more people than not...
