• Finally done (for now at least)

I finally finished my shock and spring install. WOW it was a pain. Makes you realize how much something so small can hold you back. Anyway, I'm very happy with it even though it seems that the front is higher than the back. That will help the drag racing :D So I drove it around after dropping my g/f off at home and I still have traction so the misdirection of the LCAs isn't too bad :D My shifter is great! I have the 2nd and 4th gear setting just about perfect, just a little more tweaking to do with the 1st, 3rd, and 5th :D My PCM is off to TSP for the tune :D So right now everything is done. Time to save up for the expensive stuff.

Oh by the way, everyone always says your alignment will be way off after a shock and spring install but mine is perfectly fine

        How hard were the fronts?

after driving my dads vette for a bit, then driving my 100% original stock suspension/brakes with 51k on them.

I think I need to make some upgrades, eventually especially autocrossing.

eric if you don't want to do the install yourself, i know a guy that will do the spring/shock install for $100. that also includes an alignment. only takes him two hours to do.

Is it mrr23 or something like that, I run into him at the track everynow and then.

Only for $100? I thought he did it for like $250 or something. Damn $100 I'd pay him for that, especially an alignment.

Of course, I need that money + the parts first

I've known Robert (mrr23) for 3 years now, and I drive from Tampa to his shop off John young to get my car aligned still. He is the guy to go to when you get suspension work done.

Tredalign is 4111 N John Young Pkwy in Orlando.

I get there by taking I-4 to exit 89 (lee road), and heading south on lee road (left if you're heading east on I-4) till you get to Shader road (its John young at that point) and just make a u-turn at shader road and his shopw ill be the next turn in on the right.

About the price...don't know if he'll still do that, depends on if he needs new parts for his formula's. ;)

eric - PM him through MMC, he might hook you up.

It's not hard at all as long as you can get the strut mounts off of the struts with no problems. But if Robert will do em for $100 with alignment I'd DEFINATLY do that!

I'll pay him in cash to do mine now! I have Front shocks/springs and rear springs that need to go in.

                        if your going to DIY

just go to the store and buy new mounts. something like ~50 each i think

take out your old shocks put in spring comperssor and cut out the old shock.... thin install new wount and shock and your done. nothing else to it...

the shock and mount rust so bad they bond and well your f'ed. i got one out but the other one i ripped it apart....

plus the new mounts look so much better.

bring it and the parts to me and i'll help you free ;)

I just got done installing my KYB AGX's and H&R springs a few weekes ago and man was the front a pain. The back was quite simple, but on the front it just seemed like everything went wrong. Id say about a 5-6 hour work time for the fronts between me and my dad, and about 2 hours on the back.
