  • Computer Help

Ever since yesterday my labtop randomly shuts down, like i can be surfint the net and it just straight up shuts off.

This started about a day ago when a blue screen just came up for half a sec, then the PC restarted.

Its getting very annoying and it wont let me do the system restore, its running XP

any one know what it could be?

You could have bad ram, your processor could be overheating, it really could be a ton of things.

Those generally aren't the symptoms of a virus, or being hacked. Turning off the computer would defeat the purpose of hacking it to begin with.

windows xp, along with most laptops have security features that will shut the computer off when things are going wrong to prevent further damage.

such as ram overheating or cpu overheating.

Check your ducts for dust and what not and give your computer a thorough cleaning. then go from there

I'm going with overheating as well. Make sure all the fans are blowing and the ducts are clear.

laptop have problems with over heating big time! try going on download.com and download speed fan. then turn your fan(s) up adn see if it helps.

laptop by default are set to pretty much burn up before the fans turn on, so they dont make noise.
