Have you seen a ghost or had a creepy encounter?

I can't say I have ever had one (thanks for that), but I always like hearing a creepy story! Anyone here ever experience any "supernatural" or bizzare unexplainable events? Noises at night time, footsteps in the house?

Actually, come to think of it there was one time.... this was back around 1995. I had come home on a Friday night after a guitar lesson. I was the only one in the house. So I was sitting in the living room downstairs goofing around with my guitar going over some new tricks my teacher had taught me, when all of a sudden I heard footsteps upstairs. I swear it was very real. I let it go thinking it could have been the floor settling or something. Anyways, a few minutes later I heard it again. Distinctly like someone was upstairs and moving about. It freaked the #$@ out of me. My father had died about 2 years earlier. Anyways, nobody was home... I was so convinced that someone or something was upstairs, that I called the cops. About 30 to 45 minutes later a cruiser pulled in our driveway and 2 police men were walking around upstairs with guns drawn. It turned out to be nothing, and I was quite embarrassed. But its very unlike me to freak out like that, I was totally convinced there was someone walking around as I would hear the floor creaking like a person walking. Weird.

No. I'm definitely paranoid though. I keep a Makarov under my bed at night.

I did have a feeling something was outside my apartment complex at 2:00am while I was working on a paper for college. The morning I went to my car to go to the Park and Ride sure enough someone broke my driver side window and stole my pioneer deck.

In Dec of 04 me and my brother went to mexico for summer vacation, well it was rumored by my aunt (50 yr old sweet lady who would never fib or tell a lie) that she has seen and heard some unexplained things...

Well i just brushed it off and forgot about it, later that nite around 3 am me and my bro had to share a room the room had a TV,bed,couch,table. So i closed and locked the door and we were watching tv for an hour or so then i turn it off.

I was lying in the darkness when i hear someone sit on the couch which is next to the bed, it was an old couch so when you would sit on it, its springs would squeek and it would make a lot of noise when you would sit on it.

So this freaked me the fack out, i asked my brother "ay did you head that" he said yea i did, then just said " ignore it and try to fall asleep", that i did...

my house is haunted. we have something that shakes the bedswhile we sleep. im dead serious. its me and 3 girls(mom and sisters) and the "freak" hardly ever bothers me becuase i can sleep through it. ive felt it while trying to get to sleep tho. my younger sister has alqays slept with my mom becaue the bed was "knocking"
its a scary experience feeling the bed vibrate or shake. its not like exorcist where the bed is a bucking bronco. its just a suttle shaking. just enought to notice that it is there. this came about the same time as the birth of my youngest sister. sorry if i spell like a retard

When I was 6, my creepiest encounter was walking my dog past a graveyard at night and the dog suddenly dragged me to sniff out something dead I thought.
We approached the middle of the graveyard and saw a veiled woman dressed in black with her hands on top of a tombstone. I asked what she was doing in the middle of the evening and this was her reply: "The dead are talking to me in rhythmic murmurs".
All I could remember next was outrunning my dog back home in sheer fright and hiding under my parents bed.
The next day I rechecked the graveyard site with my dog and she was gone without a trace.
I wasn't dreaming and it wasn't Halloween either... :eek:

I have a little story. Well sorta long but weird.

One night I woke up to the TV turning on blaring in the living room, it was 3-4 a.m. I go into the living room to yell at my younger sister, but suprising, no ones around. Pretty tired I don't think too much of it, by now my mothers up too. I shut it off and we both go to head back to bed.

When we turn around we see a glowing rose about 6 1/2 feet up or so on top of my mothers china cabinet. She got it from Disney World, and it hasn't been turned on or touched in about 6 years, but here it is, glowing bright. This kinda freaked my mother out so she called my father in, and he just said, eh, whatever, shut the flower off and went back to bed.

So I try to get back to bed and get to sleep. In my room I have a clock, and it ticks pretty loud so you grow used to hearing it. Im laying there, and all of a sudden the ticking just stops. Now I plain just think im going crazy so I go into the kitchen for a glass of water and to regain my senses. In the kitchen we have another clock. I finish filling my cup, and out of no where that clock freaks out. It starts ticking like crazy, then slows, then ticks like crazy again. I didn't want to wake anyone and look like a wuss so I ended up sitting up in my bed with my light on just absolutley sketched out till I happen to pass out sleeping.

Its never happened again. The two clocks are battery powered and so was the rose that can only be activated by a mechanical switch, so you can't trace all this down to fluxations in the voltage or noise in the lines. Weird eh?

Good posts so far everyone! Some of the stories are creepy indeed. Speaking of weird things, I had a funny dream last night... I don't want to derail the discussion about the creepy but I felt compelled to tell you all about this dream. For some oddball reason I dreamt of Catherine Zeta Jones, and that I was hugging her and then she kissed me on the lips. Its weird because I never think of her, and I don't know how in the hell she just pops up in my dream. But its funny the power of the mind... the hug and kiss felt so real!! It was quite a delight, I was "reminising" of it this morning as I got ready for work. It wasn't an erotic dream or anything, it was just a hug and kiss, but man, it left a feeling in my head like it really happened. All I can tell you is that she has nice hips and is a good kisser ;)

I've seen and felt it several times. This is no joke. True story.

This happened when my grandmother passed away. I was getting all sorts of message from her. One time she told me that my uncle Nick was in trouble and she has to go over there and she won't be with me anymore.

A week later sure enough, he was. He and his wife were splitting. He was also getting sued by his best friend and he's losing his house and his job. On top of that, his kids no longer see eye to eye with him. He was a mess. Still is even today.

I relayed this message to my mom a week before but she never believed me. When it happened, she still doesn't believe me.

I also saw an apparition of my grandmother the night after she died. It wasn't a complete apparition. It was only from the head down to the knees. From what I can see, it was younger version of her. Perhaps a lady in her 30's. I saw this around like 2 am at night.

My bedroom door was open and I had a view of the living room. At first I felt a strong pull from my body. It felt more like a spiritual pull. Because if it was a physical pull my body would have moved, but it didn't. I raised my head up and there she was. She just pass by the living room and disappeared. Mind you, I'm near sighted. I usually need my glasses to see something from a distance. But she came through as clear as day. She was plain white with no lumination. I never bother waking up my wife, because I didn't want to freak her out.

Why she was revealing herself to me is because I made a promise that I would do something special for her. And I'm almost done doing it. I won't tell you guys till it's finish.

Have I seen my grandmother lately, no. It's been over 4 years since she passed away. It was only in those first couple of weeks of her death did I experience her. Was I scared? No, because it was my grandmother. I really didn't mine at all to see her one last time.

^ Crazy man. I'd still be a little tweaked. You reminded me of another story though.

Im having a hard time remembering the details but I can give you the jist of it. This just gave me chills when my uncle told me and my mother.

My uncle kept having reoccuring dreams of a little girl ghost calling his name. I guess it happened quite a bit over some time, and my uncle had no idea who the girl was.

One day he was over my grandmothers house and she had the photo album out. Going through it my uncle found a pic of a girl in there that was the one from his dreams... He asked my grandmother who it was and she said, oh, thats so and so. You two used to play all the time when you were little, but she came down with something and passed away...

This had my uncle all sorts of F'ed up, because he continued to see this girl. Finally one night he figured out what the ghost girl was saying to him, be careful at work or don't go a certain day, I can't remember exactly which one of those it was. Anyway, my uncle is a roofer, and again, I can't remember if he stayed home the day he was warned or was extra careful that day, but the entire scaffolding collapsed on the section of the roof he should have been working on, which meant like a two+ story fall... No one was hurt.

He had one last dream of her smiling and running away or something and that was it. Had no more.

I like these stories, so I have another one, lol.

This one is more of, experiencing death rather than seeing the dead...

My friend is a reputable person, not a BS'er by any means, smart and down to earth, just to give him some credibility to what he experienced.

He was about 15 when him and his friends were being pretty dumb and knocking each other out by putting each other in the "sleeper hold". Apparently after a couple times a piece to each of them, he went down and didn't immediatley wake back up. Easier for me to say in his POV. "All of a sudden I was in complete blackness. Even though it was complete blackness I could sort of see darker figures moving around me, but could feel the presence of them more then anything. In that sort of situation I'd be terrified, but I felt extremley relaxed and didn't mind. I saw a small bright light, and of course you know you want to go check it out. Im moving along and all of a sudden I am out of my body, and see my friends slapping my face, freaking out trying to wake me up. Again Im relaxed so im just observing. I re-enter my body back into the darkness and hear them (his friends) calling my name." Apparently at that point he ignored the light and just listened to his friends and finally woke up having a seizure. He says still today the experience scares the hell out of him even though at the time he was totaly relaxed.

Interesting eh? Seems like if you are going to lose someone, that calling them will help keep them from giving up.

This isn't creepy, just a little wierd. One night, my friend and I were at my house and we were going to walk down to his house (which is right down the street). About halfway down to the street, a guy on a streetbike pulled over to talk to us, he was a friend of my buddy's. Well we are standing there on the side of the road for a good 10 mins, and the other guy is sitting on his bike (still running). All of a sudden, the deep black sky had suddenly become very bright, even brighter than day. I can't remember how long it lasted, I think a second or two. It was so wierd to see the sky that bright, especially at night I remember something wierd happpened to the telephone poles (I can't remember what it was exactly). Even wierder, when the flash happpened, the guys bike shut right off. Well he started it up and drove off and my friend and I went to his house and we just went on our way like nothing ever happened.
