  • What would you do? 96 LT1 car

This guy is selling a 96 camaro, former V6 now an LT1. Has ran 11.7 @ 117 with a 1.6 60' on ET streets at Gainesville, and 7.5?? with a 1.5 60' at Jax 1/8 mile track. All this with 150 shot. Has lots of suspension updgrades and roll cage. Has a built tranny with 30k and the motor has 70k on it. Guy is wanting $4300 for it. Would you go for it? Body is in great shape, I would put my torq thrust II's on it also. Interior is not the best but it would most likely just be driven on the weekends.

I can't seem to make my mind up on going to look at it. I know if I look at it, I'll want it. I planned on doing a motor swap in the RS next spring but if I get the LT1 equipped car I can build my stroker motor and already have a good body (suspension wise and all) for it. I can keep the RS as my daily driver. Decisions.....Decisions........

Well, let's see. 11.7 sec performance for 4300 dollars.

If I had 5 grand I'd buy it in a heartbeat, especially if it was just a weekend warrior.

Yeah, I'd go for the LT1. It's "built" already.

But an LT1 is basically a SBC with a few changes. It should be fine.
