Here's the upside to working Mids on Thanksgiving:
Being awake and ready to roll first thing in the morning to beat out all the other cheap-arses out there to a good deal for the Post-Thanksgiving sales! So, who else is going out and picking up something fer cheap?

My plan? Hit up Circuit City and get a Radeon 9800 Pro (128mb version, 256 too expensive) for $150. Anyone else got any good deals they're aiming for?

I never go shopping on the day after Thansgiving, but I have to be at work at Circuit City at 5:45 tomorrow morning so psychos like you can be there buying stuff. ;)

I didn't get there until 1:00 last year, but apparently the line was across the parking lot to Jack in the Box, and the entrance is on the opposite side of the store and there's a Kragen in between. It started forming around three in the morning too.

Also feel free to post any crazy things you see that occur from soccer moms suffering shopping-induced frenzy!

One word to summarize the after-action report: Crazy.

Got the video card, only two were left and the last one was grabbed by a guy who looked nerdier than I do, imagine that...

Also got a 256MB MP3 player for the eldest daughter, the family guy seasons 1 and two DVD box set for $18, the Star Wars DVD set for $40, a two handset and digital answering machine with caller ID phones for $44 and a little game. Not too bad, before rebates the total came out to around $435, knock off another $130 for the rebates and you get the true price. Oh dayum, that's the cost of a modular pulley system and reprogrammed PCM for the Regal... time to return that stuff! LOL, J/K. ;)

98% of these sales are junk. Even my buddy who works there said most of the stuff that were being pushed were actually a little bit more expensive than what he gets as a discount.

I wanted an APC UPS but I guess I'll have to wait for another sale to sprout up.

No elbows being thrown this winter season! :D

I went to the movies last nite at 10 and there were ppl standing outside of best buy already! I couldn't believe it, the only way id be there would be if they were selling plasmas super cheap ha. It had to be one cold nite for them too because it was freezing at 10, I couldn't imagine it at 2 or 4.

Yeah, when I go to Circuit City there was quite a line at 0530, by 0600, the line was 3x's as long! I got a good deal, even if it wasn't as good as the employee discount. Too bad most places don't carry a military discount of that amount. I didn't go hog-wild, not like I could have. Getting a good deal on a few things I wanted to get as gifts for others and a new vid card feels good though, makes the dollar go further so I can get more gifts for ppl. Ah well, good times.

Not worth fighing traffic/parking/lines. I woke up late and the things I wanted were snatched.

I went to costco and got a 512mb SD card for $41 w/ 2-day coupon so was pretty happy about that. Although Sandisk is a crappy brand
