• DHL shipping problem

I'm a VERY old member of this board that has been a lurker ever since I went to LT1 cars. I'v been keeping up with all the events since day one.

This sunday was my wedding. I'v had my mothers digital camera (very nice one) at my house for several weeks and a part of it broke two days before the wedding. I called up kodak to have a new battery tray shipped out for the camera. They set it up for next day air shipping for me. I called on thursday and the part was supposed to be here on friday. Guess what, it didn't show up. Saturday comes around...it didn't show up. Saturday I had to call up a pro photographer to come take pictures :(

I call up kodak this morning and they tell me DHL has the part in my city and they had it set up for me to come pick it up. I was pissed. I told them next day air DELIVERY means that you bring it to me, not bring it to my city and I pick it up. I call up DHL and they said the part is here but it can't be released. So I had to call up kodak and have another shipped to me

I orders some tips, eletrodes, drag shields and coulplings for my plasma torch from Indinia Oxygen co. they use DHL.
It has been like 3 weeks and they still haven't made it to my moms house in Maine.
If you ship some thing huge like a Plasma torch or a mig welder they get it to you "faster" compaired to normal. It took them a little under 2 weeks to get the big stuff to my house.
Smaller stuff I guess they dont care about.
I have been useing my torch to cut stuff for other people and it is getting to the point where I am all most out of tips. If I don't change them after they ware the cutter needs more power to the same metal as a fresh tip. And if it goes on I have to stop useing it or risk damage to the torch handle.
**** DHL.

I wonder if they could break my small torch parts into smaller broken parts.

Kodak gave me two shipping options. Airborne Express (DHL), or FedEx. I had a bad experiance with FedEx so I said Airborne Express not knowing it was DHL at that time.

I've used DHL before and never had any problems. The company I used to work for used DHL and they have hundreds of items that ships out, never a problem as I recall. So the company is not all that bad.

Besides, what's this topic doing in FI. Shouldn't it be in the Lounge.

I posted it in FI after seeing all the people calling BS to DHL's problems.

DHL is garbage.

I don't know why people would want to change from UPS or FED EX.

UPS kicks azz.

UPS may take 3-4 weeks sometimes, but the product is always delivered and always in great conidition.

I'v ordered atleast 25 items through UPS, the longest it took was 3 weeks for a driveshaft. But thats understandable.

LOL as an employee for UPS, don't ever write fragile on your package and make sure it is packed properly. ;)

And when the FedEx air driver comes by our hub to pickup his packages, he will take the unknown packages (weird small *** companies that ship) and drop them in the DHL drop boxes. He's like "man **** DHL." me - "yep, **** DHL." :D

Our ground service can get fubared sometimes by new drivers or misloads, but its usually only a day or two delay. Oh and get this STRAIGHT people, if the shipper specifies and PAYS for signature required, WE WILL NOT LEAVE IT. Even if you leave a freaking notarized note saying its ok to, WE ARE NOT FED EX, WE DON'T CARE IF FED EX DOES IT, WE DO NOT!
