  • They stole my bike

I rode my bike to campus at 9:30 this morning. I finished all my classes, went to the gym etc etc. Could barely walk. Then at 8:00pm I go back to the bike rack where I parked it that morning and low and behold it was gone.

My dad bought it for my christmas present and it was a pretty nice one. So I had to walk a mile back to my aparment knowing someone is profiting off my loss. I'm sure there's lots of bikes stolen at my school yet noone is ever caught. I've had my car broken into, ps2 games stolen, and now this.

What are the best ways I can go about to possibly recover it? I dont expect to get it back though. All I can think about now is revenge  **** thieves

you can report it to the police, but chances are they have already sold it. :( sorry man. ive never had my bike stolen, but ive had it vandalized, i.e. someone put all thier weight onto one side and bent my rim in half.

That's the reason I stopped riding my bike to classes at school. I had too much money invested in my bike from when I raced ($2k+). Your best bet if you're serious about riding is probably to keep your good bike at home and get a cheap beater bike to ride to campus, then just chain the heck out of it to the bike rack; no one would really wanna steal it, and if they did it'd only be a small loss.

I saw a large fraternity confront a guy walking 2 bikes (one with lock still attached) back to the ghetto, it was pretty interesting....

If you want to find your bike, your best bet is to check out used bike stores & buy it back.

Yea I'll be checking ebay and make some calls to some pawnshops and what not but dont think my chances are good of finding it. If I do ever get a nice bike again, I plan on doing a bait and wait stakeout. Never underestimate a pissed off college student with lots of time on his hands

                    check the pawnshops...

honestly for a bike on campus, I wouldn't spend more then $100 get one from walmart, pawnshop, bike store whatever..

as for theft while in school...

                    Things stolen...

                    -half my cds
-Gran turismo 3, and Gran turismo 2(****er through me back 2 generations)
-2 bottles of cologne, even though they were hidden in my bathroom during a party (aparently when you let people you don't know use your bathroom they dig through your stuff and steal it)
                    -handle of jack
-At least 3-4 keg taps, one was mine, rest were friends but in my apartment, I now have a way to chain it to a keg
-couple smaller bottles of liquor like half filled and such
-had my car broken into, few bucks stolen, my $180 parking decal.
                    -My license plate stolen
-My car broken into, my CD player stolen, driver door ****ed up, Rest of my CDs stolen, few more bucks in change.(this also called a small ground in my dash that woudl drain my battery in ~8 hours, but not pop the fuse, I had to pull the fuse for the interior so my bat woudl not drain)

Oddly enough I think my bike lock was worth more then my bike. I had a Huffy moutain bike that was my dadds, Dark gray frame, rusty chrome wheels and handle bars, I sanded the wheels and handle bars and painted them flat black, Cleaned up the gears, oiled the chaing and moving parts up bike looked pretty cool afterwards. Even sprung for new foam rubber things for the handle bars I found at target. I had one of those big $30 U shaped bike locks, got it as a present. I never got to use my bike much, Most people here live off campus, I only used it a few times when my old car was down and it was my only way to campus.

Damn that sucks. I always rode mine around campus. I would just throw it in the back of my truck between come classes and the cheap *** wal mart lock broke, and then I lost the key, so I just put one end into the other to make it looked locked, and nobody ever even touched it.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
