Please help, computer troubles!

[Question]

Well, I really dont know what happened but when I turn my other computer on, after it does the Windows scrolly across thing it will go black, and then a lighter black, and then a popup that says something like "Something Something failed to start NTPSAPI.dll, re installing the software may fix this problem. Re install the software?!?! I cant boot my computer to do that. What button is safe mode, please help!

ok, first, calm down. Second, check your bios and make sure you have the CD-ROM booting before your HD, Third after checking that, insert your windows cd right when you turn your computer on, after the POST page (power on self test.....its the first thing that comes up when you turn on your computer) another page should come up with a bunch of stuff on it, like ususal, though at the bottom on the page, it should give you around 5 seconds to press a key to boot from your cd rom, press any key, after that, you are booting off of your windows cd and you can then go through and reformat and reinstall windows. Your problem is most likely caused by a corrupted file (NTPSAPI.dll) from a virus or a memory dump (blue screen of death) ect....yet another reason windows just sucks...

If you do not have the windows CD/ or have a DELL (please say no) or another company built computer, you should have a system recovery cd. I dont have much experience with system reconvery cd's, but you should be able to boot off of it and get into the recovery console to fix your F'ed up Windows... [img]smile.gif[/img]

If you are able though, press ctl alt del when the black screen comes up, after that go to file then new task, the run bar will then come up, then type MSCONFIG. that is your system configuration utility. You then should see a startup selection, from there, click diagnostic startup. then it should ask if you want to reboot after clicking apply and then ok, say yes. need specs on the computer to tell him how to get into bios.

Just start up the computer, keep hitting f8 and it will bring you to advance startup menue.. from there choose safe mode.. If that DLL file is screwed up.. Hit up www.dll-files.com and download a healthy one and replace it. If not report back and i'll see what i can come up with.

I swear you guys and your computer problems.. Do you go on a lot of porn or something? because i have been working with computers for years now, and have NEVER had any problems related to this..ever.


Take my advice when i say do not use Internet explorer.. Download freak'n mozilla firefox, get adaware se personal, and avast antivirus and your freak'n set. (those are all free btw). I run scans every week or so, never had one problem yet. Computer runs like a champ. If anything hit up microsoft.com and read their knowledge base. lots of good info in there.

ok, right when you start the computer, the POST screen comes up like i explained earlier, to get into your bios you either press the DEl key, F1, F3, F8, if it isnt one of those, it should tell you at the bottom of the post screen which key to press to enter BIOS/Setup, depending on your motherboard. Once in Bios go to either CMOS setup or Bios Features setup, (cant remember exactly every bios is a little different) and you should find BOOT ORDER, make sure you change it to where CD-Rom is before Hard drive (HD)

oh and by the way..NTPSAPI.dll is not a system file. Its a dll file to a keylogger. Run in safemode with networking.. get your *** online and go here http://www.enigmasoftwaregroup.com/a...42&productid=4
