• Decision on my car

Well, I've been doing a lot of thinking and typing in numbers in my head, and here's my thoughts.

1. Keep modding the car to make it look and perform fast
2. Mod it to an extent in which I'll enjoy the casual street races
3. Do the "necessary" mods and stick with appearance mods
4. Just leave the car alone

Here's why....I plan on keeping this car forever, and giving it to my son/daughter later on down the road. I know it's farfetched to be thinking my bird's condition will last 20 years, but it's a good, "cool" car. I figure when I buy my next car, it will be a somewhat family car from a GTP to a Yukon Denali. But I've been also thinking of the future Camaro or Z6 (7,8, or 9). The 6 is cool, and I know I can make it run as fast as an 8, but having an 8 is a totally different experience.

(Before I get flamed for wanting an 8, whatever, remember, this is like 10+ years down the road, when I'll have 15+ years of driving experience)

that's pretty cool thinking you'll give it to your kids someday... my ex-girlfriend's dad still has his IROC camaro. not sure what year it is, 80-something obviously. it's a dark burgundy color, original paint, original everything. the car is stock except i think a flowmaster. it only has about 35,000 miles on it. he keeps it in a pole barn with a cover on it and nothing comes within five feet of it. he's the only one allowed to drive it and he only does that about twice a year, during the summer when it's a perfect day out. he's giving it to his son, which is i think 7 now. i wish my dad would have saved his '79 Z28 for me. he had it built for the strip. it needed a wheelie bar ;) . that would have been nice to have.

oh btw, my ex got a mid-90's neon for her first car. and her brother is getting the camaro. she's completely pissed.

Yah, I just think that it would be cool. Not too much power for a teen if I don't modify it "fully." Plus, I would do what my mom did for me.....let him/her drive it at 15 everynow and then just to get a feel for it and everything. Open her up as well before I actually "pass" it on. That way they won't have the "need for speed" so much when they get it, like I did. (BTW, I had a 89 Olds Cutless Supreme---very f'in fast for a v6)

Ive been thinking the same thing. I have decided to not to mod the car anymore. Hell if something breaks Im gonna fix it possibly with a peformace part. But this car isn't gonna be a high power monster ever. Its gonna be a daily driver, and I gonna keep it like that as long as I possible can.

To satisfy my "modding" bug, I want to get a fairly good cond 3rd gen Camaro and tinker with that. That way I don't have to worry about scewing up my DD and having no way to get to work and school. I think I am getting a nice tool set for my bday. Now I just gotta find some money for the project car.
