well since my camaros my only car Im probably going to have to drive it during the winter. Im a little worried since i moved to a bit more rural area the roads ehh arent the greatest. . but the advantage is i only live 5 minutes away from shopping and all that good stuff. But i just wanted some opinions on what i can do to make winter driving in the camaro easier.
Id hate to even think of trading it in for a more winter safe vehicle. .
i need whatever help i can get

or find an empty parking lot and disobey some laws and use the rear wheel drive like god intended.
But i dont know if you have a manual tranny, but if you do it helps to brake using the tranny sometimes instead of the regular brakes. Also start from 2nd gear so you dont spin the tires.
But if you dont have a m5 then it doesnt apply to you.

ok well i live in the burbs of philly. always have alot of gas, (makes the car have more weight) at least 2 bags of salt in the hatch, go to autozone or pep boys and get a car shovel(just in case you get stuck) i don't know if you have ever driven an f body in the snow, but when you come to a stop start to slow down earlier, make sure no one is around and go right threw the stop sigh. stop if you have too, but alot of time it's hard to start up again if the snow is deep enough.
if you can get an extra grand or two you should find a really cheap beater. that is what i have. hehe! good luck
thanks! i drove in the snow last year. But the roads were a bit easier to drive on. These include a few more turns and hills.

get some nice meaty tires, like 345's should be good. Go WOT as often as possible and slam the brakes 5 feet before you have to stop. Take turns with prejudice.

hmm savage messiah 345s? hahaha thats like what 2 feet of tread? Thats like this kid i knew telling his mom that a 350HP el camino would be good in the snow because all the torque and HP will help push it through the snow. [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img]

we just got about 3-4 inches of snow. i have almost bald winter tires and i managed to get around the block once. no hills really, a very slight incline. i didnt go far becuase i dont have my lisence ( or permit for that matter ) but my dad wanted to see how my car was in the snow.
my brother had a firebird, he went to school in it everyday year round, i think he had about 75lbs of gravel ( incase the bag ripped, it'd be easyer to clean up than salt/sand ) and GOOD studded snow tires. good being the key word. the little extra is worth it. good luck.

A set of 4 real snow tires (not all-seasons) will help a lot. They're marked with a snowflake and a mountain on the sidewall. Bridgestone Blizzak was the original, now there are lots of good ones.
