Wow I did not even know about this hurricane until yesterday. I get to school this morning and they made an announcment to get everything out of our lockers and take it home and also we have no school thursday or friday. WTF? I didnt even think its that bad... I get home at 1 and my mom has all the lawn furniture in the garage, and furniture upstairs... and my pets ready to leave w/ supplies???? Now we are in the process of boarding up both of our houses this is freakin nuts and I dont even think its going to be bad! I am 50 miles from galveston so I think its totally rediculous and theres no flashlights, batterys, water or bread any where. And I had to wait in a line for 1 1/2 hours for gas last nite and all they had was premium. :(

Ha thats nothing i had to wait 2 hours to fill up 1 out of my 7 (5) gallon jugs of water!

And both my cars have no gas, so i need to go get in line to fill up. Another question is which car should i take?

Were going to be leaving tomorrow i think and i have the choice of taking my white or my black camaro, its like deciding which 1 of your 2 kids you will take :(

And yet all the talk is about how horrible it would be for Rita to hit New Orleans and keeping people away from there....it's not even going there. Forget all the people actually in the storm's path...gotta focus on NOLA!

No offense dude, but you "not thinking it's going to be that bad" is a little less credible then the forecasters that know that it's going to be that bad.

Your thinking is what led to people staying in New Orleans, and look how far that got them.

I read an article on CNN that is predicting the possibility of $5.00 gas across the country as they shut down the TX refineries for the storm.

i may not be on the coast but this hurricane will hit my state with all its fury and tornados. im home right now and will leave saturday to go 2hrs east so i dont have to drive threw the bad storms sunday and my school has an underground tornado shelter. but no matter where im at, its projected to hit my school area and my home town isnt too far. just look at my avatar :(

thats an extremely unrealistic prediction on their part.

yea they shut down school for us tomm and friday, i am on tx la border and we barely missed katrina i hope we can squeeze by this one but it keeps fading our way, oh **** hope not, yea gas just got to 2 40 here back to were it was and here we go again!!!

he is simply pointing out that there is absolutley no coverage of this area which also suffered a lot of damage.
