• What do you do when you're bored at work?

So, how do you spend those boring minutes between meetings, or while you're waiting on hold, or when you just don't have a damn thing to do.

A sad glimpse into my life:

Eh, it's just sad, trite, French bashing. No workplace would be complete without it. It's a horrible translation of "I surrender" -- I failed French in High School.

      * TOKEN POLITICAL CORRECTNESS WAIVER: Stereotyping an entire nationality for the purpose of entertainment or amusement of an individual is wrong and should not be tolerated in a civilized society. While I have no true dislike or hatred of the French, I feel that I must apologize in advance for any person or persons of French nationality or otherwise that may or may not have been offended by my insidious, dry, obvious, and boring attempt at humor.

I play with my remote control Mustang ... or my talking donkeys ... or post on any choice of 5 message boards.

You have a remote controlled Mustang? What do you do, back it repeatedly into the wall, over and over again, until the fuel tank erupts in a ball of flames? That's what I'd do. ;)

                it's so annoying

I have to looked like I'm busy. I walk the floor so much, to the point where my legs start to hurt and cramp up.

Actually, I wait until my boss is standing in the space outside the office(s) ... then I drive it up until it hits his foot... then I just spin the tires.

(I've also taken it out to do donuts in the lobby... Some day I'll get really good at driving it and I'm gonna drive it to the cafe to bring back lunch. )

I read, it's fun. I just wish I could get a more comfortable place to sit.

When I'm bored at work, I look through the openings in a fake plant, towards the doorway. This way I can see if the bossman is coming so I can go back to pretending to work. This will often include spacing out at the doorway and sometimes drooling as I've lost all sense of reality. There's no computer, no TV, no radio, and the only music is the music from the storefront which is frickin' ragtime and old jazz. When the boss goes away on weekends, I'll sit in the storefront window, watching traffic go by. See some pretty cool cars sometimes.
