• Drove a 650hp car!

yesterday i went and did the richard petty driving experience at disney. http://www.1800bepetty.com/index2.html this was the coolest thing i've ever done in my life. i took a real nascar around a track by myself following an instructor. the track wasn't very big, its 1 mile long with 7-10 degree banking. it's a circle track with 3 turns. even though it wasn't very big, it was still freakin awesome.

i did the rookie experience where i get to drive 8 laps. first what you do is watch a 5 min video, then they take you around the track in the van showing you the lines and what you're suppose to do. after that we are shown a car and told what to do incase of an emergency. after that we went driving. i got to wear full race suit and gear. i was one of the first people to go so i didn't get a chance to watch others. i climbed in the car and got strapped in. you are so snug in there you can't even turn your head or body.

i was pretty nervous waiting in the car, then all of a sudden they told me to go. you have to stay 3 car lengths behind your driver the whole time. if you fall back or get too close the driver will won't go as fast. the more steady you can stay w/ him the faster he will go. going into the turns the first couple times i was scared it wouldn't grip. sure enough like they said it stuck. i was going through turns so fast i know any street car would lose it. then on the straight aways i got to rip on it. man it was so much fun driving a car w/ that much power and great handling. before you know it your 8 laps are over.

i went w/ my dad, uncle, brother, and step brother. we were having a competition to see who had the quickest lap time and highest top speed. i'm proud to say i won in both. my top speed was 121 mph and quickest lap time was 42.01 sec. i think i was about .50 quicker than the next person. if anyone has the money to spend on doing one of these i highly suggest it. it was was an experience i'll never forget.

I did something like this.

stockcarracing.com?

They asked if anyone had racing experience first... I told them my background... they didn't hold back w/ me

I went 170 in the straight away's
150 in the turns.

They asked me if I had done this before... I said no

Hopefully you got lots of pics

Congrats!

That sounds cool, I wish I had an available $400 to spend.
