I got my t-tops, and had a mini brain storm... wonder if I coudl re-key it myself. Maybe GM only had a few combos for keys with the pins.
So I took off the trim and got the lock out, just a typical cam lock. Opened it up, put my key in saw the 2 pins that didn't lineup. SO I pulled them and swapped them, they almost made it, but they didn't so I just pulled them out. I am only running 2 pins instead of 4 but now my key works on it.
Only downfall it is more likely other f-body keys will work on my locks, but who cares? If they are already in my car to put there key in my t-top lock. They are already in my car.
Either way I just love doing stuff my self.
Anyone else done similar stuff?
