I've never had a brand new car and I've managed to save ALOT of money for a down payment. $40,000 (minus my down payment) is the most I can spend and still have the "easy" monthly payments. It HAS to be 4 door. I've been looking at the Dodge 2500 Cummins quad cab trucks but the MPG is bad and the cost of diesel is crazy right now so that's out. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, the Lexus IS 350 and the Cadillac DTS are looking really good right now. I'm leaning towards the Lexus. ANY input would be great!

are you looking for sport, luxury, or both? and yes, buying a car that's at least one yr old, or been sitting on the dealers lot for that amount of time will actually let you get more car for the same amount of $$$$$. And, depreciation on a new vehicle is outrageous once you drive it off the lot.

Get a Silverado! I think you should put a little more thought into it though if youre torn between a big truck and a lexus. If you needed a truck that bad youd get it.

BMW 330 or Infiniti G35 4 door (take your pic of rwd or awd for either model).

I heard the IS 350 is a nice car. I sat in one and the interior is really nice, but
                  1. I would never buy a car in its first model year
                  2. no manual available for atleast another year
                  3. I hear the only way to turn off the stability and traction control is to know an elaborate pedal pushing sequence at every start up. Otherwise even if you push the off botton it come back on at 30mph. I like to drive my car not be driven by the ecu.
                  4. The whole engine is covered by plastic panel. I know that's a dumb reason, but it's a little thing that bothers me.

If it was me, I would keep my Firebird and buy a brand new truck. Either a Silverado or an Avalanche. In my situation, I'd need a truck since I just bought a house, and having another car would be impractical. I personally just purchased an '89 Ford F150 for real cheap from a family friend. But I do like the Cadillac you posted about.
