I know that I will be there and I am meeting up with Mogobs at some point. If anyone else is in town and would like to meet up for a while before or after the race, call me at 502.552.5467.

Hahaha! Sucks to be you Viper! That's what you get for supporting Europeans! With a pack of 6 cars, you should have just sat at home and watched GT4 playing. ;)

Sucks for you guys that went to the race. I only found out about what happened this morning in the paper, as I was out with my family yesterday and didn't get home til after the race had started.
By the time I'd remembered it, the race would have finished.

Some serious questions need answering - like why, on fathers day of all days, wasn't I allowed to watch the race instead of having to entertain the wife and kids!

That is possibly one of the dumbest, most pointless posts I have seen in a long time. Made absolutely no sense.

Now for my views on this years 2005 United States Grand Prix, and this will be long winded.

I have lived in Speedway, Indiana for 20 of my 24 years of my life, and have never lived farther than 8 miles fron the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I went to my first Indianapolis 500 mile race in 1992, when I was 11 years old, and even by then I had been going to qualification, practice, and testing sessions at IMS long before that. I want to express that I am a VERY LOYAL supporter of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and I also support any decision that is held by Tony George and family. IMS has been the one safe haven that I have had all of my life. It is the only place that I have been able to go and leave the many problems of my life outside the gates. My life revolves around that place, and there has been very little of anything to ever stop me from being out there. I owe that place a lot, much more than most people would ever be willing to pay.

I had arrived at IMS shortly before the start of the 6th Annual United States Grand Prix. At the time, I was aware of the Michelin concerns that were brought up. I would have thought that a multi million dollar company like Michelin would have had a REASONABLE resolution to the issues that were brought up with the shoulders on their tires (reasonable solution being a different tire possibly, NOT adding a chicane to an almost 100 year old racing facility). As it becomes the start of what is called the reconnasiance lap, for those who do not know F1, that is basically a lap where the cars are in the starting grid, take off, stay in order one time around the track, and line back up onto the starting grid. Now from where my "seat" is at, I cannot see the starting grid, or any of the straightaway at all. As they start the reconnasiace lap, ALL the cars are out. When it is time to start the race, only 6 cars line up on the grid, while another 14 cars head towards the garages. When I seen only 6 cars come around turns 5, 6, and 7, I left shortly after, knowing that this is no race, but a glorified Bridgestone tire testing session.

I blame this whole thing solely upon the shoulders of Michelin Tire Co. Reasons being that they brought a tire that was insufficient for the loads being brought onto the shoulders of those tires in turn 13 (Turn 1 on the normal oval). They knew about this turn, and their only participation to a pre-race tire testing session was 2 cars. It wasn't something new to them at all.

Also, if you would really like to know, getting laid has never been a problem, ask Ann Marie, the 34 year old accountant that dragged me back to her condo Saturday after F1 qualifying. You want details, email me.
