  • Yet another engine!

Ok guys, i might have an LT1 now(free..kinda..no money involved, its complicated, but legal). My uncle is giving it to me cause he isn't going to finish my corvette paint job to sell or trade or whatever to finish it.

The corvette needs to be wet sanded/buffed, but thats about it, so i think I can find someone to do it.

My question to you guys is, would it be more worth my time to sell it(and invest in my 3.8L swap...P&P heads, cam, full exhaust, comptuer reprogram, nitrous, etc) and have a little extra cash when i'm done, or put in the LT1(P&P heads, cam, full exhaust, HPP something or other).

I know that the LT1 will of obviously blow the 3.8L away(stock it will be higher output than the extremely modded NA 3.8L), but I won't get as much money out of my 3.8L, thus I won't have as much money to throw into the LT1 right off(if I sell the LT1, I will have at least double the money to throw into the 3.8L).

What do you guys think about the situation?

Well, I'm gonna sell the Corvette anyway(I'd rather have the money than the car, and I want to drop one insurance payment)...the only cars I'm really interested in right now are the Camaro and the Laser.

Money/performance, I can make the Laser smoke the Corvette(1/4 mile) and get decent gas mileage with the use of a piggyback computer and boost controller(to swap between tunings/boost settings, one setting being stock) and can make the Camaro a competitor with the built V6 (with juice) or totally ridiculous with the LT1(built, cammed, juice).

I just can't decide which way to go with the camaro.

Did I mention the 3.8L is sitting on a pallet just like the LT1 is? I already have both.

I'd sell the LT1 and buy internals for the 3.8 that way you can build it up for high boost. That'll crush the LT1 and you wont have to buy extra parts for an engine swap.

to me it just seems cooler to have a modded car than a stock car. even if the stock engine is a v8.

if course if you gave me a viper or a diablo my previous statement is out the window with the quickness!
