• I have an interview for a job with the G-M Corporation!!!

I got the call this afternoon. It's for a Communications Specialist. I'd be in charge of making sure the employees at either the Kansas site or Michigan headquarters, are kept abreast of the goings-on within the company. Sort of like being the company's media man.

But I'm nervous. They'll be interviewing me first on the phone this Friday. And what if they like me??!!! I'd have to leave everyone I love in California and head to Kansas or Detroit! Crazy. But how cool would it be to get on the "inside" track with G-M!!?

But, does anyone have any advice/strategies for me so that I kick butt on my phone interview??

just be yourself, be professional, and don't stutter over the phone. You need to provide a nice cross between real excitement over a possible position with not caring if you get the job in order to produce a "I'm the person you want" vibe over the phone. Just remember - if you get the job, you're psyched - if you don't, don't take it personally.

Good luck man:) also say you are willing to move, willing to do what it takes, etc. if you are hemming and hawing over that they won't take you.

"I understand that there are certain things like moving one must make in order to get their dream job, and I am willing to do that" - shows you are excited about the job and willing to move in order to get it

    good luck

GM is a good company. my dad's been working there for 27 years and he's retiring in 3. they've done a lot for him, always given him vacation time when he needed it, didn't hassle him about working overtime, and they just made it easier for him to get up and go to work every day.

I got a coop job with BMW this upcoming Fall as an engineer. I know how awesome it can be to land a job with one of your favorite companies.

Interviews definantly make or brake a potential job offer. Just be calm, don't be too excited, but don't be too drab either. Talk loudly, concisly, and know what you're talking about. Have confidence that you can answer any question they ask briskly.

And don't misspell 'break' on your resume.
