  • need quick answer to alternator wire size

    i noticed the alt power wire is 10 gauge, since mine is old and real ****ty, can i replace it with 8 gauge wire? or is 10 gauge the only safe one?

      The 8 gauge will work out just fine. Really any thing thicker than 10 is fine.

          Actually i would go twith an 8 guage wire... check out battery cables at autozone... you can get a decent sized one with connectors for like $4, just replaced one on a freinds car.

            8 guage is recommended for alternators.
