• Should Paul Hamm give up the gold?

Based on what we know, should he give up the Gold with good sportsmanship due to a judges' foul up, or keep it?
It's obvious that there IS a tenth discrepency, which would make Paul second fiddle.

I saw the whole thing. I think it was really close. The Asian athlete was good but Hamm was able to rebound from his major error and did flawlessly on the rest of the exercises. While the other athlete had minor mistakes on each exercises that caused them points to loose. Very close, but he deserves it.

But you DO realize, that there was an error in the judge's scoring due to the fact that they AUTOMATICALLY deducted 1 tenth from the routine for lack of difficulty when they shoudl not have? the routine had a best of 10.0, but the judges started it at 9.9. They recognized the error, but all too late.

exactly.. all too late. If they would have realzied that within the whole 15 min before the ceramony sure.. but that would be all out wrong to take it now, after its been around his neck for a good week. Thats the judges fault. even thoughi still believe hamm deserved it after those last two routines.. talk about flawless

Hamm really was flawless in his last routines. Excellent, to keep his composure and focus and do so well while the runner up starter crying when he saw Hamm stick his landings. Drop a .10 there for lack of composure on his part. Hamm deserves it I believe.

Its like in the NFL, you only have untill the next play to question a call, they had a certain amount of time to despute the judgement and they took to long, now the gold is hamm's

NO... If they want to re-evaluate the korean performance then they should re-evaluate every damn scores for everyone. And that isnt going to happen. The Koreans should just shut their trap already and stop whinning like little girls.

HELL NO HE SHOULDN'T.

The decision was made, in sports there is no going back a week later and adjusting things to make everything fair... a call had to be made and thats that.

Could you imagine how many titles in Football or Baseball or Basketball would have little notes beside them if we went back and reviewed all the rulings on close ending games?

Tough sh*t Korea.

Its interesting that its unfair for the Korean to be told one day its a 10 routine and then the next day be told its a 9.9 routine. However people think to rectify this unfairness they should tell Hamm one day he's a gold medalist and then the next tell him he doesnt deserve it...

Maybe if Starcraft was an olympic event they might have a chance, since it is their national sport

Actually since it's not really sport, but business...yes that does happen

There have been tons of repeals over the years due to things like drug use, betting etc... and if you want to see asterisks beside records and such...just look at baseball.

This is just a general comment, not specific to this olympic medal event.
