  • Anybody know anything about "tennis elbow"?

I've been working my triceps/chest very hard at the gym for several months now, and I'm developing a pain in that tendon in the elbow. Everyone tells me it's "tennis elbow". I bought a brace for the elbow that says it helps to treat tennis elbow.

Anybody familiar with this that could offer some insight? I'm not familiar with tennis elbow. What is it, specifically? Does it heal up on its own? How long does it take for it to heal?

So should I wear my brace whilst I grease the tube?

Uh, seriously... any REAL insight is welcome :D

I had tendonitis a few months back. I didn't work my upper body in any pushing movements for over a month, and I iced consistently 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off, for about an hour or two every day. Now I am putting up way bigger weights than before, and my tricep tendons feel great.

Also, I used to do a ton of isolation exercises, which I feel contributed greatly. I now do only compound movements, specifically the bench press and push press. I feel isolation movements put too much strain on the tricep tendons, and are ineffective, anyways.

I think it's tendonitis, and if you give it a month or 6 wks it should heal up fine... but AVOID STRESS on it or you'll make it worse... FAST.

I believe it is caused by uneven development of the muscles in your arm. The muscle that bendst the arm is nice and stong, but the opposite musle that straigtens it is weak/injured. The uneven strenght causes the pain.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
