  • New Guy from Texas

    :wavey:

Howdy. Figured I'd post an intro. I recently bought a '98 Camaro, V6 auto, for a run-around toy. It'll do slightly better on gas than my '93 Silverado 2500, I'm betting. I live down on the Texas coast & have been around hot rods & race cars most of my life.

First Camaro I've owned, so it'll be interesting.

        Thanks guys.

You're a little north of me, Rage- I'm near Corpus Christi. I'm originally from San Antone.

Well, I got the car dirt cheap because the PO wasn't a mechanical type & his uncle & a couple "shops" were at a loss as to what caused the problem. Got tired of spending $$ on it & bought another ride.

After Googling around, it became apparent the the 3800's are notorious for killing the fuel pressure regulator (As most y'all prolly already know). If you know what the symtoms are of a bad FPR, then you know how the car is acting. So thats first on the list. I plan to keep it fairly stock, though it has a Flowmaster and K&N air filter already. Different rims & tires eventually, and it needs a little interior & body work. Might look into a programmer, too. I am a hot rodder, after all.
