  • Just ordered a new car

I'm waiting on my lawyer to hurry up and get this settlement done so I can buy some new powerful toys.... but that is taking too long sooooooo, I ordered a new ride to hold me over for a bit.

    2012 Mercedes C250 Coupe

    4 Cylinder turbocharged
    7 speed auto
201 HP & 229 TQ <--- not overly impressive compaired to other turbo 4 bangers

31 mpg <--- big improvement compaired to my 15 mpg truck

    Palladium silver and black interior
    Sirius radio
    Heated front seats
    Harmon kardon stereo system
    Ipod/mp3 interface
    Comand w/ navigation
    Voice control
    Rear view camera
    Rear spoiler
    17 inch wheels
    Aluminum trim

My gut is telling me I will like the car except for the engine. I drove a preproduction version and the turbo lag was unacceptable. When it hit boost it boogied pretty good.

I had a 2003 MB C230 coupe back in the day - 2 L 4 cylinder with a supercharger - that one was nice with its instant power but fuel economy wasn't that great

    2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8: 12.125, 116.45
2010 Ford Taurus SHO: no times yet

            ^^ x2, I don't recall hearing about that.

We had a 2011 C250 as a loaner for about a week. I didn't like any part it, but I'd admit that it was relatively comfortable and quiet. Build quality seemed good too, it just didn't seem as impressive as it's price tag. Ours wasn't a turbo though, or a coupe. That might make for a better car.

From my 2 car accidents where I was hit by careless drivers and had to have 4 spinal surgeries and suffered permanent loss of motion on my neck.

No matter wehat the amount is, I'd trade it in a heart beat to have my life back and be pain free.

                Probably was a 11 C300.

Price tag is big.... but when in an accident or a panic brake situation, there is no other company who can compare. I walked away from 2 bad accidents and I was in a benz

                  I think you're right, I believe it was a V6.

Sorry to hear about your accidents. And now I can definitely see why you stick to MB.

You should be looking at Suburbans and Yukons and stuff in order to protect you better from any more accidents that will worsen your condition. That benz is small.

I sell Mercedes Benz's. The C250 is a good quality car. You will be happy with the build quality, ride, and technology it has. Mercedes is the safest car on the road. Mercedes actually has a forensic team that investigates fatalities in accidents involving their cars and uses that information to improve the safety designs of their cars.

There is some turbo lag though when you stomp on the gas. During normal driving you will never notice it. Driving it with the transmission in sport mode helps also.

I work for corporate headquarters (Mercedes-Benz USA) - been there since 2000 ;)

I've dealt with their forensic team before - nice group of people.

Bigger doesn't mean better - benz is much safer than the vehicles you mentioned.

Couldn't agree more, although after watching top gear when they dropped a saab on its roof from 8 feet up, I'm a little upset that saab is gone. haha.

Don't forget to mention that it's complicated engineering makes it one of the most expensive cars to maintain. Overpriced, overly complicated. Unless you have money to piss away, no sense buying something that depreciates in value and spending top dollar to keep it running
