Awww so close! Its not Armegeddon. I thought you had it for a sec. The movie had a bunch of B listers in it which is why no one knows what Im talking about. Ah well, Im about to throw in the white flag on this one.

Hmmm. I remember them sending a bunch of astronauts up to either drill or explode the asteroid. Which is very close to both Armegeddon and Deep Impact. I used to know one of the astronauts name b/c I've seen him before. But now I've forgotten who he is and what other movies I saw him in.

I don't really remember any other details b/c its been so long since I've seen it. I just remember watching it all the time on HBO and Deep Impact would play right after.

Asteroid, came out in 1997. Michael Biehn was in it. he played Kyle Reese in terminator and Hicks in Aliens.

That might be it. I'll be able to look more into it when I get off work. I've been asking everyone here at the office too. Anyways, so far I found the movie titles "Solar Crisis" and "The Apocalypse". If neither of those plus the one you found, aren't it, then I'm loco and give up.
