• my C5 vrs 430 rwhp Supra vrs 2006 911S

Well a friend of mine just bought a 3280 pound, 355 HP CarreraS Porshe for 93 grand. A 2006.

So we plan for a race. I go meet him and another one of our friends is there with a 430 rwhp Supra. We go on the freeway and me and the Supra hit it first....

Oh before I begin heres my mod list..

-LS6 heads
-918 springs
-malloy pushrods
-vararam air intake
-160 thermo
-no cats
-224/224 cam Estimated 370-390 rwhp ( will find out within a week)

Me and the Supra line up at 70 mph and hit it from a 3 beep. By 120 mph he has about 3 cars on me and we shut down. Im pretty happy with the out come. Considering he has a good 40-60 rwhp more than I do I thought I hanged pretty good with him pulling me pretty slowly.

Then him and the Porshe raced. I was 2 cars behind both of them when they lined up. I decided to go WOT right after they both hit it and I started realing the Poshe in from 70-85 mph...Then around 85 mph I caught and passed him pretty good...

Pretty good feeling knowing that a 90 grand car started two cars in front of you and hit it before you did and you sill reel him in and pass him before 100 mph..

Very fun night and the looks on peoples faces when a 911S Porshe..lowered silver Supra and White C5 w/ racing stripes rolled into the various gas stations and places we went to eat. AWESOME EXPEWRIENCE

Hey Laron, when are you going to supercharge that Vette?

There's a Vette here that makes over 600rwhp. I think yours can do that.

sounds like good times! also sounds like a good time to add a procharger and put football fields on both of them. :D

Well my car still hasnt been tuned for the cam yet. Thats gettin done shortly and the Supra also agreed to run me again after it's tuned. We should run within the next couple of days.

As far as the supercharger it's pretty much out of the question...

Right now Im some were between 370-400 rwhp (wont know till I tune tomorrow and get on the dyno within a week...) But a supercharger AT A MINIMUM would put me at 500 rwhp with only 6 pounds of boost.

Typically an bone stock LS1 dynos 300 rwhp. The with 6-8 pounds of boost they dyno 430-470 rwhp.

Since Im already in the high 300's NA. 500-600 rwhp off 6-8 pounds of boost would kill my trannie the first time I take it to the track. Or break my rear.

It will cost me 4 grand to upgrade my trannie/rear to handle that kind of power..Im far from rich...

So I have thought about getting a supercharger and putting a 3-4 pound pully on it to be around 450 rwhp and still be SAFE on the stock trannie/rear. By why pay so much for the SC to only push that kinda power when I can buy a set If AFR heads for 2 grand and probally be close to the same SAFE power NA.

Ill post up on the rematch with the Supra. Those things are sick on the top end!!!!!!

My cam is a 224/224 .563 at 112

I Have only has one stall with this cam in the past 3-4 months that Ive had it and it is very streetable. EVEN WITH MY STOCK 2.73 GEARS AND STOCK TOURQUE CONVERTER..

This is the most tried and true LS1 cam out there and I highly recommend it..

As far as power... A stock LS1 that dynos 300 rwhp could put this cam in and go to the same dyno and put down 335-350 rwhp from just this cam..

Stock I had 299 rwhp and trapped 102.5's's on average...( best was an 104.5)

With the LS6 H/C and an air intake I dynoed 345 rwhp and ran 105.5's on average ( best was an 106.3

Then with this cam ( still untuned) I am trapping 109.2's...I gained another 3 mph over the LS6 ( 2004 Z06) with the 224/224 cam and it's not even tuned yet...

Comparing it to a stock LS1 cam and Im sure I picked up ATLEASTE 5 mph....BEST 1,500 BUCKS IVE SPENT ON MY CAR..And the 1,500$ covered the cam..918 springs...maloy push rods..and install.

nice job man!!! :D

Forced Induction makes great power: $$ ratio get this

Stock I trapped 99mph
$90 waste gate (hold more boost) I trapped 104.5

5.5mph gain for $90...can't complain either...well it's been a while since then ;)
