well i was on my way to work the other day and i pass a TA in the median waiting to get on the hwy...he does...theres a stop light approaching and i catch it..first car in the slow lane, with the TA right behind me...and a big asss truck next to me....light turns green...fyi speed limit through this part is 50 then up to 60...i baby it off the line like usual...the truck hauls assss way ahead of me and the TA gets next to me...now we are in the 60mph part of the hwy...im we both are just cruisin at about 70...i gun it so does he...i get up to 80 and im at the middle of his passenger door....stay that way for a sec or two, then i hear him shift into 6th and he pulled about 2 car lengths before i shut down at 95....my car is bone stock..dont know what he has done

He shifted out of 6th you mean, and gave you 3rd gear probably. Cause if he gave you 6th gear and pulled away 2 cars, I think you have problems with your car. 3rd I would think would be a decent gear for power at that speed. My guess: He downshifted from 5th or 6th (whatever gear he was in) to 5th or 4th and just hit it...Black \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth<br />Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.Comment

well id have to say that 60 for an lt1 isnt a good roll run. 40-60 sucks, go try one from around 30-35 and you'll see what im talking about. from about 30 i cant keep traction to save my life but once it grabs some traction it takes off nicely.
i doubt he was in 5th or 6th. probably more like 4th and downshifted to 3rd and pulled you real quick.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it
