    I got home from work and my brother was at the house.. I was on a 2 hour break(working a double shift) and when it was time for me to leave.. my brother left too.

    We were following each other down 309 which has about 5 or 6 stop lights.. its pretty rare to catch a red light but it happened.. I stopped at the red light and my brother pulls up to me in his chevy blazer eXtreme... now my brother told me before that my firebird would probablly beat his truck, but i've been in it and it is pretty damn quick for a blazer... it has a 4.7L in it... so I was a little worried

    The light went green.. and I wasn't expecting my brother to race me so i babied it off the line like I usually do at about 1.5k and my brother guns it! He had a good 1/2 car length on my before I even floored it, I slowly reeled him in, throughout second gear I still continued to reel him in.. and once my car hit 3rd gear I started pulling much quicker on him and passed him.. we ended up going to 75 in a 65 and I ended up having a little over a full car length on him.

    I always wondered whos car was quicker and tonight we found out... haha, now I get to talk smack to my own brother [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img] :D [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img]

    alright for one they have a 4.3 v6. not a 4.7 and they are a 17 ssecond truck, you should of had more lengths than that.

      your right about it having a 4.3L.. but theres no way that was a 17 second truck.. he almost kept up with me.. until we hit around 40 mph i barley pulled on him.. it has fast acceleration off the line and i just ran a 15.3 at the track so my car is running good

      he got a big jump on me too that might have been the reason it was hard to pull on him until we got to higher speeds

        What do the trucks run? They must weigh a little less...

          a supercharged s-10 xtreme ran a 14.7 with 10lbs of boost so they can't be that fast...

          the same kind of xtreme with the same boost ran a 13.3 though so that mustive been a bad setup

            my dad drives a 01 xtreme PU and it was slow as **** in stock form. now it runs 13's [img]smile.gif[/img]

              Actually "yes way" it is a 17 second truck..my friends sonoma with a 4.3 vortec runs 16.8's and 16.9's ALL day and thats alot lighter then a blazer...I dont know whats wrong with your car but in one gear I can pull 2 cars on him.

                  ........... hahaha, I had a 4.3 Sonoma that would drag most V6 cars on here, especially in top end, like they were in reverse =P And it was an automatic! =P

                    my bravada has so much off the line. 3.73s really help. If my camaro had the 3.08s still I think it would fare the same way.

                      My 1996 4.3L V6 S-10 with an automatic ran a 15.90@85 mph bone stock.

                      While not blistering...it had some pickup.

                        there is noting wrong with my car about 2-3 weeks ago I ran a 15.3 at the quarter mile I am telling you that his truck was not a 17 second truck.. I would have had no problem pulling on him in second gear if that was the case

                        what is the 0-60 on a eXtreme, once I hit higher mph I stated to pull on him much quicker and in his truck(I drove it once) I noticed in 1st gear it has much more power and once it swithces into second it slows down a lot

                          Matt, thats because its designed to have low end power and is geared for it. It's not geared for acceleration [img]smile.gif[/img]
