04 vette vrs 04 M3

    04 vette vrs 04 M3

    My friend went out and bought a 04 M3....

    He wanted to race my 04 stock vette...

    So he waited for the break in miles and we went for it...

    Let me state that I was pretty worried about being killed...

    Every book I read had the manual vette beating the manual M3 by only a tenth or two...

    But Im not a manual....

    Im in a auto with the gas saving 2.73 gears vrs his manual...

    So I knew I had no real advantage and it was gonna be a drivers race...

    So we line up on the usual drag spot and go..

    I put like 3 cars on him by 60...

    He said that he missed a gear so we went agan and the same thing happenne again...

    At this point I thought he was just making excuses for his slow car and started underestimating him...

    So we lined up again and this time he stayed right at my door till like 45 and then I put a car length on him by 60...

    He stayed there till about 80 and then by 110 I had about 3 cars on him..

    Then I shut down......

    We went to th track and the best he got was a 14 flat compared to my 13.5...

    Im sure he could get a 13.7 with a little more practice.....


    It was a fun race and a great way to get my first kill.

    It's his wifes car and he's currently about to buy a 40,000 03 Z06 or a 90,000 05 NSx...

    I hope he gets the NSX so I can still smoke him.. Heh he he e he he

    BTW ya he's rich.. Him and his wife own a medical billing buisiness nd make like 30 grand a month...

        They can be in the mid 13 range stock from what ve read on the M3 forum...

        Yea dude....Thats a lot of freaken money.....

        There only planning on working for 5 more years and there both only 30...

        They took me and my wife out to eat te other day and the bill came out to 500 dollars and they insisted on paying...

        Just my lobster was like 80 bucks....

        But thats a hole different topic..

          good kill. those NSX's are cool looking but you could definatly take one [img]smile.gif[/img]

            yo, stock M3's with a perfect run can pull like a 13.1 - 13.2. They are right there with an LS1's perfect run.

            I think with a perfect race, he might take you, but it would be damn close.

              Congrats on the kill. Moments like that probably make everything worth it with the car

                The fastet Ive ever read of a stock M3 going is 13.3 in a respectable all diferent cars mag.

                Under the same standard the fastest vette is a 13.0..

                They way around the same but the vette has 17 more HP and is more arodynamic....It is the faster car...

                BUT NOT BY MUCH...

                Yea it is an awesome moment when you kill a car that some people dream about...

                The M3 is awesome.....It should be or 60 grand though. He he he he

                      Actualy the coup vette is proving to be a good daily driver as well (for a two seater) the trunk is huge!!!!!

                      I was able to carry all my military gear in the trunk....Somthing I vener could have done in the maro...

                      Well Ill get back on topic now...

                      The M3 is very nice....

                      When you put it in reverse the side mirrors automaticly pivot down at an angle so that you can see any curbs that you may back up in to.

                      That is so kool... Wish the vette did that
