• Almost Lost To a Ricer!

It was the usual, i pull up to some crap *** looking import with a freind and said watch this. I rev up to him at the light and before we took off we saw a cop sitting at the QT so we drive down more and take off.

It was from 40 on, worst speed. I started pulling but at about 80 he started slowly gaining on me, he would have passed me except there was a car coming in his lane so we let off.

I was shocked, the car looked like a POS. It was a serious sleeper I guess. I'd heard you guys stories about the VTEC crap and never beleived it. All he had a a VTEC head, full exhaust, and intake.

I would have had him if it was a light though. I'm still shocked.

Earlier that day I ordered a JETT Stage 2 Power Module so hopefully it doesnt happen again.

3rd gear for any v-tech car is pretty nasty.

3rd gear for any v-tech car is pretty nasty.
                Explain?

Why would what gear the VTEC motor is in matter? The VTEC solenoid that causes the motor to be using a more aggresive cam profile kicks in at a certain RPM (higher RPM's). 3rd gear has nothing to do with it.

My finacee as a 2003 Honda Civic that has a VTEC motor (127 hp) and I don't care what gear it is in...it is slow.

VTEC doesn't create HP, it simply uses it more efficiently by using a different cam profile at high RPM's. The concept is certainly sound but 127 hp is still only 127 hp no matter how you are using it.

Earlier that day I ordered a JETT Stage 2 Power Module so hopefully it doesnt happen again.
Send it back it won't do anything for you. Spend your money on a CAI or something.

well my brother built a 92 prelude and put a h22a in it and the vtec makes a pretty sick *** difference BUT only kicks in at around 5500 RPM and yes you can feel the difference in first gear your car is gonna wrap out to fast to utilize the v-tec for that loing and then second is a little better and third gear is real long so itll turn 5500 rpm to 7000 from about 75 MPH to about 100MPH so you have a loinger gear in third the more time for the vtec to hang in there

                      The Jet Chip sucks?

What should I get a power programmer? What do those actually, do? Advance timing and adjust shift points? Trash the speed limiter?

Whats the difference in the power module?

I think the car had some pretty gay emblems on it. I started laughing when I saw Type R on it, LMAO.

I've heard the vtec's have pretty good mid-top end power.

The power module doesnt replace anything does it? Its just a plug in that adjusts setting correct? I dont really see how it could make any more difference. It sounds like BS to me, I know it works and all but makes it seem like its just making it shift firmer to make it seem faster?

Whats the difference in the two?

Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
