  • Tiburon V6 & mazda 3 hatchback

Friday night I was out with my fiancee driving around the S.E. side of town when these imports jump on my tail and stay there. The Mazda had a ground kit and red underbody lights (Ick) a fartcan and a generally cocky attitude. His buddy was in a blue Tiburon with the V6, had an exhaust and aftermarket stuff. They kept revving their engines a bit, sticking close to me through slow traffic, and I was getting a bit annoyed at them sticking around.

So I decided the first chance at a stretch of open road I'd show em a thing or two. About a half mile later I got my chance when a old cadilac turned off onto another street, just as the light we were rolling up to turned green.

We were all going about 20mph. The Tiburon was next to me and floored it, the Mazda was about 2 car lengths ahead of the Tiburon, leaving me a clear lane ahead. I threw it into second (was in third at the time) And passed the Tiburon like it was standing still. I reeled in the Mazda before I hit 60 and got up to his fender at 70, then shut it down, we all stopped at the next red light. Got a nod from the Mazda guy, who said "Nice Camaro, I didn't think I had a chance with you V8s at all."

Told em. "It's a six, not an eight." He jawdropped and said "Aren't those pieces of **** engines with no power at all?"

I told him. "Yeah, and you and your buddy just got smoked by it."

They turned left onto Sunset, and I turned right, went onto the strip and ate dinner at the luxor before I realized what an *** I was to be racing with my fiancee in the car... I appologised and she said it was cool, she trusted me and liked the thrill of it. Still, I'm not doing that again.

Though I think I'll be on the lookout for those two guys again. I'll have to get em with my pos 3800.

What cracks me up is when people think they are racing a 8. The "its a 6" always makes them cry.
