• Got beat by a 04 Jetta 1.8t

From a dead stop by 60 he had me by about a car length. We stopped afterwards and all he had done was an intake. Should i have beat him or are these things fast?

they're good for low 15s stock if driven right so yes. Just be thankful he didn't have a chip or else he would have gotten more than a car.

I don't know about low 15s.
The audi 1.8T is a 16 second car, which is the same thing as the jetta. I can beat the 1.8Ts all day long.. I think he had more than intake if he beat you by a car.

ummm......no

Go find one that can drive. I've seen SRT-4s run 14.8 before what's your point?

Plz don't turn into another "oooh gotta defend all 4 bangers because I drive one now" person. I do beat the Jettas, I don't see what is hard to believe about that. I didn't say I beat SRT-4s because I can't, so there is no need for you to get defensive.
I've beaten more than one 1.8 and I know for a fact one was auto so either they're retarded and can't mash the gas down or they're SLOW! If my car can beat it, they're slow Because mine is slow too.

If your going to tell someone to quit defending 4 bangers, you quit defending 6 bangers. Fair enough? Alot of people seem to have a hard time when hearing a 6cyl Camaro gets beat and in this topic, you seem to be one. Depending on the year of the Jetta, the story is quite believable.

1.8s come down to:

Transmission, AWD or FWD, and vehicle model.

A LOT of Audis use the automatic tranny with the electronic shift option and they are slow as PISS. Also, a LOT of audis are AWD, making them even SLOWER because of their weight. And on top of that, Audis are heavier than their VW brothers and sisters because they are a wwhhhoollleee lot more luxurious ....

VWs, most are manual transmissions...Most weigh less than Audis...and almost all are FWD, cutting down on even MORE weight. Low 15s? EASILLY obtainable in a 1.8T car...
Mustangs.. Come to the darkside...

The dark side is the path to the shadow of greed. =D

95Bat...you might wanna read what Solar was saying.

I had a 3.8 that ran low 15s and I wasn't "waxing" 1.8Ts with it. I would beat one or two stock ones here and there but it sure as hell wasn't by much. Plus you have a 3.4L makes it even harder to believe. I'm sorry if ya don't like it.

As for defending my car...I'm not defending I'm stating facts. Would it make you feel better if I told you an LS1 would murder me on topend. There I said it...happy?

Solar - I don't know where you get the impression that I think our cars are fast and can't be beaten or something, incase you didn't read my whole post:
"Because mine is slow too."
I said that. Soooo... yeah.
And 04SRT I didn't say I "wax" them. I said I beat them all day long. Thx for taking what I said way out of context to make your argument against me sound better
BTW, on my g-tech I trapped 89+ mph multiple times... take it for whats its worth

...and you should know that G-tech's MPH are way high. I trapped 94 on my g-tech on my V6...look at me real world MPH. You're around 84 through the traps, as expected.
