Holden makes an Intake for the L36? I seriously didn't know that.

I have a Holden Intake for sale, but it's for an LS2 :naughty:

That looks like an upside-down trans pan :D

How long have they been out? I got rid of my '96 Camaro back in April of '07, and this is the first time I saw/heard of those intakes.

lol just as long as our 3.8s have been out. Holden is the GM cars of australia. These intakes were stock on their cars.

longer runners, better flow, yea there are gains to be had. Have you seen the inside of our stock 3.8 intakes? It is horrid for flow.

As for actual gains that is unknown. I did a full blown rebuild when I went this route. So as for how much was gained from intakes alone is still unknown

Yea when they had some extras. I contacted my current aussie supplier but they were all out of them as well a couple weeks ago. Try a junk yard there for one. They call them wrecker yards FYI.

I have mine ported out as well, so it is not stock as well as a CNC'd tb.

running on a car, no, just me. Some others have them in possession though. The intense-racing 8sec firebird had the lower intake from the holden car but had a custom upper intake. website to buy one, you would need to contact a junkyard in australia or get on a holden v6 forum and find someone parting one out.

Re: WTB Holden intake for L36

there are two different styles of holden intakes that fit our cars. Only issue for the newer fbody crowd would be the fact that the tb is cable driven instead of DBW. So you would need to fab something up there. Otherwise it goes in. You will need to make room for it however as it is quite a bit taller than our intakes. either cut your cowl or drop the kmember. I went with a custom tubular kmember that has a drop built into it as well as some kmember spacers for the clearance.

Difference between the two styles is the gasket between the two goes from orings to metal as the pcv groove is cut into it. Also EGR on the newer ones where my intakes don't have the provision. And the newer ones eliminated the bump going into the intake right after the tb. I ported mine down to get rid of the bump. Also hear the newer ones are slightly taller than my VS ones but I do not have any hard evidence on that.
